Helping small business owners thrive in @cityoflamesa is one of the most rewarding aspects of city council work - something I’ll continue as mayor! Thanks @deanospub for elevating our campaign kickoff party to the next level! #cityoflamesa #supportlocal #smallbusinessowner #community #lamesa
5 of the most underrated places in East County San Diego: 1. San Vicente Reservoir — Lakeside. The largest reservoir in the City of San Diego and one of the most underrated weekends you can have in this county. Fishing, wakesurfing, waterskiing, kayaking, and pontoon boat rentals for around $130 for a half day. Trophy bass fishing that draws anglers from across Southern California. Most people outside East County have never heard of it. 2. Mission Trails Regional Park — Santee / La Mesa. Over 7,200 acres and 65 miles of trails — including Cowles Mountain, the highest peak in the City of San Diego. Hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, camping at Kumeyaay Lake, and boating on Lake Murray. Free to enter. Eight miles from downtown. One of the largest urban parks in the country and East County’s best kept secret. 3. Mt. Helix Park — La Mesa. The hilltop that defines this community. 360-degree panoramic views from the Pacific to the desert at 1,378 feet. A historic outdoor amphitheater, community events year round, and a view that instantly explains why people who move here never leave. This is East County at its best. 4. La Mesa Village. Nine miles east of downtown San Diego and a completely different pace of life. A weekly Friday farmers market with 90+ vendors, summer Thursday night classic car shows with live music, the annual Taste of La Mesa Village food event, independent restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and boutiques along a walkable boulevard. The kind of downtown that makes you want to stick around. 5. Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve. Seven connected lakes, 190 acres, and over 760,000 visitors a year — most of them locals. Fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, camping, disc golf, and live music on summer weekends. The kind of place that makes you realize East County has more lifestyle than the coast at a fraction of the price. This is why I love selling homes out here. The lifestyle is real. 📍 East County San Diego #EastCountySanDiego #LaMesa #MtHelix #SanDiegoRealEstate #EastCountyLife

Extra, extra, read all about it! 📰 It wasn’t that long ago that phrase was being shouted on nearly every city street corner announcing breaking news when newspapers were in their heyday. Today there are some communities left without any local journalism to cover the important issues happening close to home. But now there’s a chance to turn that trend around in San Diego and support community news. The @timesofsandiego is expanding into Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Navajo, the College area, La Mesa, La Jolla, Point Loma, Ocean Beach and from uptown to downtown to cover local news happening where you live. Give them a follow, subscribe to the newsletter and learn more on how to support local news.
Still in San Diego and had to take in all the views! You can see all the way to Point Loma, Coronado, Silver Strand, El Capitan, if you squint you can see La Jolla, and on very clear days you can see some of the islands off the Mexican Coast. I’ll be home soon to sew The Bardot Bucket Hat pattern by @sewhungryhippie and sealing with Natalie (SHH) and Maddie from @the_badass_quilter 🥰😘🥰❤️🎉🎊 Hope you will join too! #california #sandiego #southerncalifornia #lamesa #sewistofinstagram
Space that adapts to how people actually live today. Over an acre on Mt. Helix, a full main residence plus separate structures ready for guests, work, or future income. Pool, privacy, and no HOA in one of East County’s most established hillside pockets. Comment “MULTI” and I’ll send you the details #lamesa #eastcounty #sandiegohomes

Video by Mika Salamanca/ IG
