One of the biggest fears beginner swimmers have (whether they're conscious of it or not!) is not being able to get their feet back on the floor. Learning to stand calmly and in a controlled way can transform how safe and relaxed you feel in the water, setting you up for long-term success! It's important that you are with a teacher or partner in the water, who can help support you as you learn this critical, fundamental skill. Because for many adult beginners, it is not as easy as it looks, and our instincts to rush or panic can quickly take over! I have 3 very helpful practices for anyone still struggling to learn this skill, which I will be sharing some time soon!! Stop Sinking When you Try to Float on Your Back Learning to float is one of the most important skills in beginner swimming, but many swimmers makes it harder than it needs to be. Floating with the ears above the water, ours body sinks down. By relaxing the neck, leaning back, and letting the ears go underwater will make the body naturally more buoyant. #swimming #howtoswim #learntoswim #swimlessons #rocketswimming

Feeling like you’re sinking in the pool can be scary. But in most cases, there’s a simple and safe solution. In this video, I show you exactly what to do if you start sinking: how to stay calm, use the pool depth to your advantage, push off the bottom, and return safely to the surface with control. Understanding how your body behaves in the water is key to reducing panic and building confidence. When you know what to do, fear disappears and movement becomes natural again. This is a basic survival skill that every swimmer should know, whether you’re a beginner, an adult learner, or someone working on water confidence. #learntoswim #swimcoach #survivalswim #survivalswimlessons
Most people panic when they feel themselves sinking, but staying calm is the key. Don’t fight the water. Use it. Push it down and let it bring you back up. Learning how to control your body underwater builds confidence and safety, and it’s one of the real foundations of swimming. #swimming #learntoswim #waterconfidence #survivalswim #swimcoach

‼️Freestyle Set Up & Breathing Drill. Great Drill by Luka Kukhalashvili training at the @world_aquatics Training Centre in Budapest. ➡️ Focus is high hand position at the front to pop the high elbow catch. ➡️ Steady led kick to maintain body line ➡️ Core control on arm recovery ➡️ On catch engagement rotation into the breath ➡️ low head position in the breath (Basics one goggle comes out of the water) ➡️ Hand entry in the front is parallel to the shoulder line. No crossover. All round this is an outstanding drill by Luka.. #swimming #olympics #sport #swimmingpool #natation #nuoto #swimmingdrills #drills #learntoswim #swimmingmasterclass #jamesgibson #skill

This is the one step swim instructors forget to mention after swim lessons… What comes next. You spend thousands of dollars on lessons. You work around the schedule. You show up week after week. And then it ends… And no one really talks about what you’re supposed to do when swim lessons are over. Then, you get to the pool. Your child wants to jump in. Or you’re wondering why your child doesn’t want to get in. It can go either way. And suddenly, you’re standing there wondering… Now what? Should I get in with them, do they got this, are they gonna be ok, what do I do? This part matters more than most parents realize. Because swim skills do not just “lock in” after 4–8 weeks. They don’t lock in after a few months either. Swimming is a building process throughout the toddler years. It takes continued exposure. Continued practice. Continued guidance. And with drowning being the leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 1–4, parents need to know how to help their children in the water after lessons too. Continued education is everything. My goal is for parents to get in the pool with their little ones during the warm months at least once a week — even if they are actively going through lessons. Because the progress is that much better. I’ve seen it time and time again after helping impact over 10,000 children in the water. The children who keep practicing swimming at home… keep progressing. The children whose parents know what to do… grow in confidence so much faster. That’s exactly why I created a simple step-by-step way for parents to continue their child’s education at home. Comment “TEACH ME” to work with your child at home and gain confidence for a lifetime. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ #viral #learntoswim #toddleractivities #toddlermomlife #swimlessons
