When you’re first getting into leatherwork, saddle stitching can feel overwhelming.
Let’s break it down into simple steps:
1. Start by passing your thread through the first hole, working toward you, and center it.
2. Take your left needle and pass it through the next hole.
3. Bring your right needle behind the left and form a cross.
4. Push the right needle through the same hole, behind the thread.
5. Cast the left thread over to keep it clear of the right needle.
6. Pull both sides tight to lock the stitch in place.
7. Repeat.
Save this for later and give it a try.
