A massive win for us. Grateful for all the support from everyone. 🙏 We have been silent as we had complete trust in our legal system. The High Court has denied the claims made by the other platform of ‘passing off’ and also denied any monetary damages to be paid. (The other platform had asked POI to pay them INR 5 Crore in damages in the plaint submitted) Our official statement will be out with the official court order soon :) On a side note, ‘the other platform’ has put a convenient one sided statement on their Instagram. Simple summary below: High Court Order (simplified): Both platforms cannot use each other’s content. Exactly the same rules apply to both - no monetary damages to be paid - no copyright on concept can be claimed by anyone. The ‘other platform’s version’ (on their insta) High court has put a permanent injunction on POI from using the other platform’s literary works and creative expression.
