Norway just got its first aluminium bridge in 30 years — and it’s made with scrap from the Gyda oil platform. 🌉♻️
The new Hangarbrua in Trondheim uses 20 tonnes of recycled aluminium that Hydro remelted and turned into new profiles for the bridge deck. Together with Statens vegvesen, Leirvik AS, COWI, Aker Solutions and Stena Recycling Norge, we’ve shown how offshore history can be transformed into infrastructure that connects communities.

After Iceland I spent my third summer in the small town of Leirvik in the Faroe Islands. There’s a benevolent spirit in the nature and the flowing streams. The summer weather was hot at times.
