Important ligaments every anatomy student should know 👇 • ACL – Prevents anterior translation of tibia • PCL – Prevents posterior translation of tibia • MCL – Resists valgus stress (medial knee stability) • LCL – Resists varus stress (lateral knee stability) • Patellar Ligament – Transmits quadriceps force for knee extension Ankle & Foot: • Deltoid Ligament – Prevents ankle eversion and provides medial stability • ATFL – Resists ankle inversion and anterior talar translation • Plantar Fascia – Supports foot arch and absorbs shock Spine: • Anterior Longitudinal Ligament – Prevents spinal hyperextension • Posterior Longitudinal Ligament – Prevents spinal hyperflexion • Interspinous Ligament – Limits spinal flexion • Ligamentum Flavum – Maintains spinal elasticity and posture • Iliolumbar Ligament – Stabilizes L5 with pelvis Upper Limb & Jaw: • Coracoclavicular Ligament – Stabilizes clavicle to scapula • Glenohumeral Ligaments – Provide anterior shoulder stability • UCL (Elbow) – Resists valgus stress at elbow • TMJ Ligament – Controls jaw movement and prevents dislocation Save this for your anatomy exams 📌 Follow for more clinical anatomy content. #anatomy #physiotherapy #medicalstudents #anatomystudy #physicaltherapy
Ankle Ligaments
„You just need to strengthen your quads“ Nope, that‘s not how your knee works. Look at kids, they don‘t have a lot of muscle. Your knee has tendons, ligaments, cartilage, menisci…structure that can all adapt to the right training stimulus! But often we‘re told just to strengthen our muscles. And then we wonder why even tho we got stronger muscles our knee still hurts. Well let me tell you this. You need both, but by preferentially training muscle dominant movements and leaving out range of motion, tension & compression in the joint, we‘re leaving the connective tissues behind. But the truth is that no amount of muscle can absorb 5-10x your bodyweight. You need strong connective tissue for that! Hope this made you realise something🫡 Let‘s make ballers bulletproof again! #acl #aclrecovery #meniscustear #football
After an ankle sprain, the right level of immobilization matters. In the early phase, we often need to fully protect the ankle ligaments to allow proper healing. Traditionally, that means a bulky walking boot. But as recovery progresses, controlled motion becomes important. That’s what we like about the TayCo brace 👇 ✔️ Easy to put on ✔️ Lighter and less bulky than a traditional boot ✔️ Can be worn over your shoe ✔️ Hinges can be adjusted to gradually allow plantarflexion/dorsiflexion ✔️ Still blocks inversion/eversion to protect healing ligaments ✔️ Better comfort = better compliance = happier patients The ability to transition from immobilization to controlled mobility can make a big difference in recovery after an ankle sprain. Hypermobile hands, often dubbed "double-jointed," feature excessive range of motion due to loose ligaments, making them highly flexible but prone to instability, pain, and injury (fragility). Conversely, normal hands operate within a stable, functional, and controlled range. While flexible, hypermobile hands require specialized strength training to manage instability, as they can lead to joint subluxations and, in some cases, are associated with connective tissue disorders like EDS.  #studygram #education #education #knowledge #studying
This is why ankle sprains heal slower than you expect It’s not just swelling — it’s the LIGAMENTS around the joint. They stretch, tear, and lose stability... and unlike muscles, ligaments get very little blood flow That’s why rushing back too soon leads to repeat injuries. Watch closely — this is what’s really happening inside your ankle. #massage #barcelona #ankle #relax #массаж
Quadriceps tendon |fascia relax The cheekbone is like a pulley, the quadriceps like a spoon, Together they make the knee work harder when straightening. Simulating fascia sliding to reduce friction. Lateral sliding method | Balancing left and right tendon tension. Reverse finger dialing method | Separate bonding between fascia. Fascia collection method | release internal space of colon tissue. #massage #massagetherapy #ligaments #tendon #legmassage
⁉️ Why should we train the quads with a mini loop band before a workout? And how does it affect the knee and ACL? 1️⃣ How the knee works: Knee stability depends on three things: bones, ligaments, and surrounding muscles. • Ligaments only kick in when the knee becomes unstable. • Muscles need to activate before the ligaments, otherwise the ACL takes the full load. 2️⃣ What do the quads do? • Control knee bending • Guide the patella (kneecap) 💥 Weak control → shin moves forward → more stress on the ACL. 3️⃣ How does the mini loop band help? • Faster muscle activation → knee is ready before movement • Better knee proprioception → the brain knows exactly where the knee is → less stress on the ligament 4️⃣ So does it strengthen the ACL? The ligament itself doesn’t get stronger, but the muscles absorb the load, keeping the knee moving correctly. 5️⃣ Who benefits most? • Those who have had an ACL injury • Those with front knee pain • Knees that collapse inward (dynamic valgus) • People who sit a lot • People just starting rehab ✅ Summary: Training quads with a mini loop band: • Activates muscles earlier • Coordinates all muscles around the knee • Reduces pressure on the front of the knee • Improves knee proprioception • Decreases stress on the ACL 💡 Practical tip: Warm up your quads for 2 minutes with a mini loop band before your next workout to get your knees ready! #knee #kneepain #loop #looptraining #ACL #aclrecovery #ACLElite #ligamentinjury #ligaments #warmup #stability #baseball #ufc #fighter #tennis #football #basketball #aminhashemi
