Doing a little final inspection before wrapping up and loading up. I love making people’s dream furniture happen for them :-)

Ok guys, here are the details. Up to a 8’ table, live edge. Minimal epoxy. So no river tables. And slabs that are over 8.5’ or black walnut are excluded. Simply because we don’t have any 3’ wide slabs dried right now.
If you want to share this around, it will help get it to 500 comments faster ;)

I MADE A $36,000 MISTAKE 😭
I kiln dried an entire massive Catalpa tree without properly strapping the slabs down, and every single slab twisted over 5"...
They're 3.25" thick and sitting around 7% moisture content. At this point they're basically unusable as full beautiful slabs 😭😭
Before I give up on them, I'm asking the woodworking and sawmill community for help.
Is there ANY realistic way to untwist slabs this bad?
If you've dealt with this before, please tell me what you did. I'm willing to experiment. 🪵

Running a one-man wood shop means wearing a lot of hats. 🪵🔨 Designer, builder, finisher, delivery guy, accountant, and everything in between.
One of the hardest parts is knowing when to ask for help. When you’re used to doing everything yourself, reaching out can be tough. But sometimes the best thing you can do for your business is lean on the people around you. 🙏
A huge thank you to my buddy @camgoetz23 for putting in the hard work on this recent custom table project. Your help made a huge difference, and I truly appreciate you jumping in and getting it done with me. 👊🏼
Grateful for good friends, good work, and the people God puts in our lives when we need a hand. ❤️

Do you agree with me❓️
This burl already has so much character, especially with those natural gray tones and crazy grain. I think a gray & pearl epoxy flowing through the middle is going to complement the wood perfectly without taking attention away from it.
This 10' × 48" table is going to be a serious statement piece. 🔥
Say YES if you like this design and the placement of the burl pieces❗️

Nature meets precision.
A single industrial pass transforms a rough live-edge walnut slab into a perfectly straight furniture edge.
