Tip-toeing around in some heavy terrain yesterday. Wasn’t quite sure what the sluff was going to do on this one so kept the speed down a bit and enjoyed some spine time, with hundred of meters of cliff exposure below it’s really not a place to get swept with the current. Still felt like a dream to finally make turns in this zone!

I kind of knew the sluff was going to be my main concern on this line. A 900 vertical meters couloir, out of which a quite serious percentage was in the ”very steep and narrow” territory. Throw three mandatory air cruxes in there, plus some twisting and turning making going fast enough very technically challenging, and yeah, you kind of get why I had to shut this one down. Happy to make it out of the way just in time.

Smooth ice or smooth powder snow, you never know around here. A little bit of both today, out and about with @kriskopa and @honesttoast on a new line and mountain for all of us. Something special about skiing down towards a frozen fjord!

For those wondering, there’s great snow to be found higher up, we skied this couloir at about 700m but above it all of the past days precipitation has landed as snow. Be careful and think before you go, the wind has definitely moved things around a bit 🌪️
