I would have to rethink things… 😬 “The Night We Met” is one of those songs that feels familiar the first time you hear it. Released by Lord Huron in 2015 on their album Strange Trails, it gradually found its audience before reaching listeners around the world after appearing in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The song captures the feeling of wanting to go back to a time before things fell apart. Its haunting lyrics and simple production reflect the emotions of looking back on a relationship and missing not only the person, but also who you were when you first met them. More than ten years after its release, “The Night We Met” remains one of the most loved indie folk songs of its era. It has been streamed billions of times, covered by countless artists, and continues to appear on road trip playlists, late night drives, and emotional moments at concerts around the world.
