Hey guys! For this tutorial, you’ll need: a paper texture for the background, a dark gray paper texture (mine has a photocopy effect), some text (any text — you can just type out lorem ipsum), and of course — your design! 🙌 If you want your text and photo to stay editable, right-click the layer and choose Convert to Smart Object. Now, the idea behind this: you want the edges of your elements to look rough, like ink bleeding into the paper’s texture. Here I used Outer Glow set to Multiply with some noise added. Pick a color that works best for your composition — I went with a gray-blue, since I’m using a photo with a bluish tone. 🙏 ✨ Tip: after applying the Outer Glow, you can slightly blur your main text too — it helps blend everything more naturally into the texture and adds to the printed feel. And of course, textures play the key role here. The white one (I recommend a slightly grayish white instead of bright white) works well for the background. Then a blurred lorem ipsum text adds a touch of realism. And finally, the dark gray one with a photocopy effect gives it a nice finish. (You can use black, but I personally love the faded look more.) Hope this tutorial comes in handy — and I wish you all the best with your creative projects! 👼🏻

Imagine being as big a company as Ernst & Young and still leaving placeholder text all over your website. “Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and type setting.” Just all over the place they left it in and it’s indexed by Google. So this is the easiest  way to see if you have placeholder text on your site that you need to clean up. Do site:yoursite and then lorem ipsum or whatever text you want to search. Google will show you what they have in their index. Ernst & Young has been called out on this for years, they still haven’t cleaned it up, takes just a few minutes. Better for visitors,  better for search engines, even better for AI. More SEO tips at compactkeywords.com.
