Some dogs are harder than the next to get that root nice and straight, but this little trick never fails me! Sometimes the hair up top still has a bit of a kink in it depending on the coat texture/type but usually you’re cutting a bit of that off anyways, it’s the root that matters 🫶🏻 • #doggroomer #dog #doggrooming #doggroominglife #doggroomersofinstagram
Do you overuse your thinners and then wonder where all the hair went on your dog’s face? ✂️😬 This clip from a recent live breaks down exactly why it happens and what to do instead so your faces stay soft, full, and balanced 🐶✨ Watch closely… this is a game changer 👀 🇦🇺melanienewman.com.au 🇺🇸melnewman.com 🇨🇦melnewman.ca @melanienewman_salonessentials #doggrooming #dogsofinstagram #dogcare
This is the part no one talks about… The shampoo you use doesn’t just clean the coat. It decides how the entire groom feels. 👉 The dog’s stress levels 👉 Your drying time 👉 How much effort you’re putting in 👉 Whether the coat works with you… or against you We had a groomer switch after 8 years using the same product… And cut drying time by 50%. Not because they worked harder. Because the coat prep finally worked properly. ✨ Less blasting with the dryer ✨ No need for detangler ✨ A calmer, smoother groom from start to finish That’s not just a product change. That’s a workflow change. Save this for the days when everything feels harder than it should. And send it to a groomer who needs an easier day 💜 #doggrooming #groomerslife #petgrooming #doggroomersofinstagram #coatprep
Tuesday Tips ✨ Why do we have to shave matted dogs? *This owner requested for her dog to be very short regardless of matting, this matting was not at the point of causing health issues for the dog, so it was a perfect time to bring him in for his spring shave* #doggroomers #stokenchurch #dogsofinstagram #dog
I see lots of MATTED dogs and hear just as many excuses as to why they got that way. #doggroominglife #matteddog #brushyourdog
👀 “Looks at my big happy eyes…” 🐶 One tiny grooming tweak that makes a BIG difference. Make sure you open those peepers right up! A well-cleared eye area instantly makes the floof look brighter, happier and more expressive. And don’t forget to finish with thinners/blenders to soften the edges and create that lovely seamless, natural look. It’s the little details that turn a tidy groom into a polished one. Prep is EVERYTHING. If your finish isn’t looking right… it’s usually not your scissoring... it’s what’s happening before it. No products. No shortcuts. Just technique. This is how I get that soft, fluffy finish on a wavy coat ✂️✨ How are you prepping coats like this in your salon? #doggrooming #doggroomer #petgrooming #groomingtips #doggroomingtips
To keep your dog’s coat fluffy and pain free, you have to look at grooming as a daily story of prevention, rather than a monthly rescue mission. Your groomer can maintain a healthy coat, but the magic really happens in those small brushing moments at home 🪄 ✨ 🎩 #doggrooming #doggroomer #doggroominguk #dogcaretips #matting
How to groom faster (without rushing the floof). ✂️🐾 When I first started grooming, I had no routine whatsoever. I’d do a bit of a leg… the dog would turn… I’d start on the tail… then realise I hadn’t finished the body… and halfway through I couldn’t even remember what I’d already done. It was chaos. Then I introduced a simple system and everything changed. My order now looks something like this: Body → back leg → tail → front leg Turn the dog Other side → back leg → front leg → chest → face → ears Suddenly I wasn’t second-guessing myself or redoing areas. Everything flowed, the dog stayed calmer, and the groom became much more efficient. Speed should never be the goal. But working with a routine helps you groom calmly, confidently and commercially. Curious… do you guys follow a set grooming routine, or are you more freestyle with your floofs? 👀 #doggroomingtips #doggroomerlife #groomingtips #petgroomer #prodoggrooming

Never brush muzzle mats dry… ❌ This is one of the most common grooming mistakes I see. A little detangler first helps loosen the mat and makes brushing much more comfortable for the dog. 🐶✂️ #doggrooming #doggroomingtips #doggroomerlife #doodlegrooming #petgrooming
