Past the gold wall… and everything shifts. Darkness. Stillness. And then — light. Each piece at the Schiaparelli exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum reveals itself slowly… almost reluctantly. You don’t just see the clothes. You wait for them. And when the light settles — it’s magic. The jewelled wedding dress in the Daniel Roseberry room quite literally stopped us. A collective pause. A quiet gasp. It shimmered like something otherworldly — held in its own halo. What stayed with us most though… was the contrast. Elsa’s work — free, surreal, rebellious. Roseberry’s — sculpted, controlled, almost constricted. Both beautiful. Both saying something completely different. This isn’t just fashion. It’s fashion questioning itself. Between art and garment. Between freedom and control. Between past and now. And that tension? That’s exactly why it still feels so relevant. Wear it. Repair it. Rethink it. #bettyandpudge #repairisradical #wearitagainwearitbetter #schiaparelli #vandamuseum londonfashion fashionexhibition fashioneditorial fashionjournalism sustainablefashion circularfashion visiblemending slowfashionmovement
“feminism, labour, (re)publishing, archive, memory, library, garment industry, patriarchy, exploitation, gossip” These words introduce “All Work is Women’s Work” (2025), a collaboration between the Library of Unruly Fashion Practices and XEROXED. Instead of a traditional wall label, the work is introduced through association, echoing how these garments disrupt ideas of authorship, hierarchy, and the archive. Printed, photocopied, and worn, archival histories are written onto the body. ‘No place for mannequins: Remaking the fashion archive’ continues at UTS Gallery until 24 April. #noplaceformannequins #libraryofunrulyfashionpractices #XREOXED #womenswork @libraryofunrulyfashionpractice @xero.xed @hankavdvoet @aliamascia @beaubertens Image credits: XEROXED: wearable pages, readable garments (established 2022, Italy; Alia Mascia, designer) & Library of Unruly Fashion Practices (established 2025, Netherlands; Hanka van der Voet, author and Beau Bertens, designer), ‘All Work is Women’s Work’, 2025. 🔥🔥🔥The House of Aristocrats catwalk presentation at Mr Porter, 22 Park Lane, London, was a packed-to-the-rafters affair showcasing a collection of undeniable drama and experimental beauty. I believe in the great potential of talented designer Pharaoh Farruck and champion him. His pieces spoke in a language of fearless androgyny and opulence with stand out silhouettes that moved with quiet confidence. This is fashion as emancipation, refined yet defiant.. where elegance meets edge, and where aesthetic and spirit are exquisitely intertwined. #recycle #positivefashion #avantgarde #catwalk #fashfam @houseofaristocrats @pharaoh_farrukh @alanendfield @mrporter_london @just.newsinternational @juliusjust_ @modemq_official @lizbreweretiquette @lesliemmfifb @bravebybruno @luca.braccia2 @hadriantulk @roarpublications

The tides are showing positive changes in fashion. Designers working with upcycling, materials usually going to waste being repurposed, pieces being redecorated and giving a new life. These aren’t just signs, they’re new ways to enjoy fashion. #consciousfashion #sustainablefashion #upcycling #gemäldegalerie #fashionxcraft #echoesoftomorrow #fashiondesign #fashioncraft
Matières Fécales for @parisfashionweek One of the most visually disturbing shows this season and deliberately so. Porcelain skin, elongated silhouettes, and sculptural tailoring turned the runway into something closer to a science-fiction tableau than a traditional fashion show. The collection doesn’t attempt to beautify the body. It reframes it entirely. #coutureaddictss #parisfashionweek #avantgardefashion #runwayanalysis #matieresfecales
THE ONE PERCENT @matieresfecalesparis The One Percent was the concept for the AW26 show of Matières Fécales. Design duo Hannah Rose Dalton 🇳🇿 and Steven Raj Bhaskaran took on 'power' – who has it, who doesn’t, who bleeds for it – and did so with their usual unnerving precision. The opening bourgeois family tableau set the tone: Vampiric capes, pleated skirts, hourglass blazers, prim tweeds and twinsets. This wasn’t indulgent aristocracy – it was a dissection of it. Dalton and Bhaskaran “Fecalised” Dior New Look codes with mille feuille skirts, built in hips and corseted waists, then slashed them apart. Opera length lamb leather ‘Guilt Gloves’ came with red palms – a wink to their collaboration with Louboutin and the idea of blood on wealthy hands. Money was everywhere. US dollar bills were sculpted into eye masks, blinding the wearer. One shaggy 3D knit was entirely knotted from cash, worn with tweedy black capris and prim satin heels. Sweatshirts read ‘Cult’ in intarsia or screen print, hoodie capes with kangaroo pockets clashed against razor tailoring in Prince of Wales wool. Matching bows exploded across electric pink and smoky grey tulle ball gowns, as if Cinderella had finally snapped. Dalton herself stepped out in architectural faux python and heelless skin shoes moulded to toes and all. Throughout, prosthetic cheekbones pushed faces into alien territory, perhaps a nod to surgical obsession. Then came the immortals. Michèle Lamy strode out in a floor-length grey knit with staggering shoulders and furry sleeves; Bryan Johnson followed in the simplest look of all – skin tight grey knit, hench and oddly domineering. Daphne Guinness shimmered in tasselled silver, helped along by Hanan Besovic, her Bride-of- Frankenstein beehive intact. The show closed with Debra Shaw in an almighty silhouette reminiscent of an Elizabethan queen. Power, here, wasn’t subtle. It was masked, mutilated and made grotesquely visible. Eat the rich. Look 3 for the @neoculturemelb runway 👑 This one is very special. The Crownwalker — and honestly… the name says it all. A one-of-a-kind, upcycled coat I created for one of my gorgeous clients. She loves colour, she loves statement… because yes, every day is your own runway. So when I was invited to the Neo Culture runway as part of the @melbfashionfestival - independent programme, I knew immediately — this piece had to be part of it. And the best part? She came to the show… and joked that she might start wearing it at home exactly how I styled it on the runway — just with beautiful lingerie underneath. I mean… why not? 😏 You know I love designing pieces with a story — not just mine, but yours. Pieces with presence, with volume, with personality. Pieces that can’t be repeated. If you have something special in mind… something you’ve been dreaming about bringing to life — you know I’m just one DM away. Or come see me at the atelier 65 Little Latrobe Street, Melbourne 3000 Thursday to Saturday from 11 to 5 pm. And stay tuned… the final look is coming soon — a beautiful mix of clients, past pieces, and what’s next. Do you love unusual designs? I started to explore the raw, the fragile and the unconventional materials to make many of these designs. Lichen, bioplastic, bark, leaves🍂 They can be described as part garments, part art. On the border. I want you to ask questions about what beauty in a material is and what is important in a garment. The aspect of decay is also something I work with. What happens to the material in it’s lifecycle? If this intrigues you as much as me, hit follow! 🇸🇪 I’m a designer and artist from Norrköping, Sweden, who loves wearable art and post my work every week.🚃 #contemporaryfashion #avantgardefashion #fiberart #wearableart #svenskdesign
