Imagine going on a walk at your local park and saying something like this to a disabled woman just minding her business, also going on a walk.
Chances are, you probably wouldn’t say this. Or at least I hope not!
It’s crazy to me the things people will say behind a screen. It’s like as a society we completely forget there’s another human on the other side of the receiving comments. Use this as your weekly reminder!
I have #cerebralpalsy. This is how I walk. I can’t change it, this is with me for life. Don’t make fun of people with disabilities!
Let’s go back to the simple elementary school rule of “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”. ✨
Side note: these negative comments get buried under the hundreds of positive ones that flow in. I take the time to read them, and they truly remind me there’s still good in this world. Continue to spread positivity and kindness. You never know who needs it. 💚

The shooting at Michigan State University is just the latest of the 67 mass shootings in the U.S. this year.
Let that sink in.
It’s only the middle of February, and there have been 67 mass shootings. That’s almost 70 mass shootings in just seven weeks.
For some families, this isn’t even the first mass murder event they’ve endured.
From a room across the street from the MSU shooting, TikTok user @jmattttt described their experience surviving the Sandy Hook School mass shooting just over 10 years ago, which left them with a lifelong PTSD stress fracture in their back from crouching for so long while hiding from an active shooter. At age 21, this was their second mass shooting. “We can no longer allow this to happen. We can no longer be complacent.”
It shouldn’t be this hard. Thousands of kids and their families shouldn’t have to rely on grief counseling to get through the school year. Parents shouldn’t need “bulletproof backpack insert” on their back-to-school shopping lists.
Some politicians seem to have plenty of energy to create laws about what should be in kids’ textbooks—
But they can’t be bothered to do what’s necessary to keep our kids alive at school?
