Jonkonnu masqueraders and musicians put on a skillful and energetic parade as they dance along the streets of Ocho Rios in St Ann on Christmas Day. ππ
The traditional parade often includes characters such as the King and Queen, Cow Head, Horse Head, Pitchy Patchy, red Indians and Belly Woman.
Modern Jonkunno bands are rarely as large as they were in the 19th century.

Masqueraders are getting ready to fill Lakeshore Boulevard and the Exhibition Grounds on Saturday for North America's biggest festival showcasing all things Caribbean β Toronto Caribbean Carnival.

The Toronto Revellers (@torontorevellers) are made up of more than 2,000 masqueraders, volunteers, and designers who contribute to Carnival. @ourtorontocbc host @ShannonMartinTV visited their North York showroom as they prepared for the parade.
