Minister Williams announced that the government is moving forward with its public procurement set-asides framework, giving small businesses a real opportunity to compete for government contracts. The initiative targets micro-enterprises with annual turnover under $15 million and small businesses up to $75 million, allowing them to bid for projects within their capacity, from construction to tech services. Minister Williams emphasized that this programme ensures that companies don’t have to be big to participate, giving Jamaica’s small businesses a fair and practical chance to grow through government procurement.
Congratulations to Aubyn Hill and the entire team at the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce (MIIC) for a very strong and disciplined presentation today before Parliament’s Standing Finance Committee.
