Friday evening at my happiest.
The draw bridge is up.
The log burner in the kitchen is lit.
Cosy blanket, glass of wine.
And the dogs…… Miss Martha is in the Sitting Room , and so it’s just the hypnotic fire spaniel and the rapture dachshund!
We were supposed to be going out to Chichester… but change of plan. My fault completely, but after a busy day in @circusmidhurst I just wanted to stay at home.
For most of my life I have always done things whether I wanted to or not. But since I turned 50, ( a long time ago now!!) things changed.
If I don’t want to do something I don’t do it. Very liberating, and gives huge amounts of relief too.
So tonight I’m cooking steak ‘a la @bonprovence ‘ my great mate, great cook and tablecloth maker to the stars… and me!!!
I wish you a happy evening and a ‘do it your way’ weekend.

Cobbled streets lined with period townhouses, picturesque façades and a bevy of independent shops now dressed for the season — Midhurst is quietly one of the loveliest places to enjoy at Christmastime. A little magic, a little history and plenty of places to wander for #BBAdvent Day 8.
Spots featured:
@marmadukesantiques @circusmidhurst
@thedukeofcumberlandarms (technically in Henley but too good to miss!)
Featuring a Christmas Tree cameo from @theojwright.
