Day 1 at @atojazzfestival. A favorite time of the year! For this reason I spent an unreasonable amount of precious time to DIY this mini print vending machine. . . . #linocut #printmaking #atojazz #miniprint #diy

When I first started my print club, I knew I’d need to print large batches of the same design for my subscribers After looking at the price of professional print presses, I decided to find a slightly more affordable solution… ⭐️ A tortilla press ⭐️ I’ve been using this for my lino printing since I started making lino cuts last September, and honestly, I’ve been amazed by how well it works After 6 issues of Club Curio and 500+ lino prints, it’s become one of my most-used printmaking tools. The pressure is consistent, the prints come out beautifully, and for the scale I’m working at, it does exactly what I need The only real limitation is size. I’ve found I can get great results up to around A5, but anything larger is going to require a different solution So for now, I’ll be sticking with my trusty tortilla press. A proper print press can wait #printmaking #linoprint #miniprint #printclub #linocutting

The 30 prints all together lined up in neat rows! I love the way they look together, you can finally see the colour gradient I was doing for the whole month. Doing each one at a time I didn’t really know how they’d all look together, but I think it’s worked pretty well. I could have done with making the plant a little darker and maybe have a few more shades of blue maybe 🤔. Anyway, if you like any specific ones I’ve had some prints made that will be up for sale soon! Also, I’ve had a special print made of the whole lot together! I can’t wait to share it with you soon!! ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜 #artprints #miniprint #artcollection #colourgradient

Can’t believe I’ve sold that many prints!! I’ve learnt so much but here are the top 5 things: 1. The middle slot is the most used of the 3 2. Everyone’s not going to like all the designs in the machine and that’s ok it’s not a diss to me or my art - they just gravitate to certain designs over others! 3. Trading is such a huge part of vending machine culture and I had to learnt not to get so butt hurt seeing people selling my prints for more than I do because ultimately it means there’s demand for my art! 4. Always always have extra quarters because obviously not everyone will have some on them! 5. Still working on this one but making new collections will keep people coming back! (Stay tuned for more collections 🤭) This machine has only made my business more popular and I am so forever thankful for it!!! All my collections are available on smarart.shop and I’m currently looking for stores in the NYC area to house my machine so tag your fave places below ❤️🌟 #artprint #smallartbusiness #miniprint
