Speaking at a rally in Manchester, Green Party deputy leader Mothin Ali said the campaign in Gorton and Denton had brought together a wide range of left-wing groups to oppose the far right. The event marked cooperation between the Green Party and Your Party, with Corbyn speaking on behalf of Your Party and Ali representing the Greens. Ali said the Denton and Gorton campaign had succeeded in unifying the left, with backing from groups that do not usually work together. He said the campaign had received endorsements ranging from the Workers’ Party to independents and supporters of Corbyn. Corbyn told the crowd that Your Party and the Greens were united in the need to defeat the far right, Reform UK, fascists and racists. He confirmed his support for the Greens in the Denton by-election, saying a victory would send a clear political message that the left can work together to challenge the far right at the ballot box.

Eid Day… It was a pleasure meeting Hannah Spencer today after Eid prayers. I had the opportunity to spend time with her, share my concerns about recent Labour government policies—especially those affecting immigrant communities—and speak about the need for stronger representation. She listened with care and assured us that she will raise our voices and stand for fairness on every platform. We also discussed the upcoming local elections, and there is a strong sense of hope and confidence for the Green Party. Wishing everyone Eid Mubarak—may this bring unity, strength, and positive change for all. #EidMubarak #CommunityVoices #StandForJustice #ImmigrantRights #FairPolicies #LocalElections #GreenParty #StrongerTogether #UKPolitics

Last week in Parliament, I spoke about multiculturalism in the Maylands electorate and the diversity that makes our community so strong. I’m proud to represent a community shaped by people from all over the world, whose cultures, stories and contributions help make Maylands such a vibrant place to live. #heartoftheinnereast

Today is the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. Last week in Parliament I spoke about the importance of standing together against Islamophobia and all forms of racism and hate. Here in the Northern Territory, our diversity is our strength. Connection over division. Respect over hate. Community over fear. As-salāmu alaykum

Local councillors are the bedrock of our communities, local voices tackling local issues. Waseem Zaffar was one of the best, a tireless advocate for constituents, taken far too soon. A huge loss to Birmingham. I called for a debate to honour the work of councillors like Waseem.
