🐐Salthill Cabin, Animal experience 🐐Our favourite place in Mountcharles, Co.Donegal has got EVEN BETTER with two new experiences added, Animal feeding and Animal petting which allows you to get up close & personal with all the animals 🐐 Salthill Cabin petting experience 12-4 every hour on the hour, €5pp last around 30 minutes with lots of opportunities to pet snakes, turtles, hamsters, rabbits, birds plus more! 🐐Salthill Cabin Feeding experience, come and feed the animals from 12-4, animal food bags available to purchase for €3 per bag from the cabin. This took us about 30-40 mins as all the animals loved all the attention especially ear rubs! 💙 SALTHILL CABIN 💙 MOUNTCHARLES 💙 We've been visiting Donegal for years now but had no idea this little wonderland was just down the road from where we always stay. Located right on a pier with a small beach beside it, it's the cutest cafe that also happens to be a petting zoo. Entry is free but donations can be made towards the care of the animals. We saw peacocks, absolutely enormous rabbits, guinea pigs, owls, chickens that looked like they were wearing flares, calves that seemed to be playing tag and lots of friendly ducks, geese and other birds. The friends who brought us said that there are even more animals in the summer and they hold summer camps for kids age 6+ during school holidays. The photos of the beach were taken by my husband because we had one kid who wanted to walk along the store and one who didn't. We saw some people swimming and I'm definitely going to have a swim and a hot chocolate afterwards another time! There's lots of space to sit and chat or play. We were there for the whole morning and the kids all had a ball. We will be making it a regular stop from now on and can't wait to go back.
