One of the acceleration drills we’ve been including in our third phase of winter training.
This is a great one because in includes reaction, change of direction and some good old competition. Who doesn’t love a tennis ball drill?
These athletes have been working up to be able to do a drill with this many layers—we’ve worked multidirectional acceleration, deceleration as well as progressed from closed environment to more open environment drills so that when they got to this point in their training they’d be prepared to make these efforts look great.

Dr. Elizabeth Haynes and Jiaye "Henry" He recorded microscopic footage of a developing zebrafish embryo, specifically capturing the unimpeded growth cycle of the developing neurons by placing the embryo in water instead of a gel block, which would have stunted growth.
To overcome this, Haynes and He placed the embryo directly in water, allowing them to capture the unimpeded growth cycle of the developing neurons.
They used He's multidirectional selective plane illumination microscope to image the embryo.
The Result:
This allowed them to create a video showing the nervous system growing in a developing zebrafish embryo.
This is a zebrafish and not human - we can imagine what a human embryo being “knitted together “ looks like and how glorious God’s creations are and a true miracle in the making!

These sprints increase ankle and knee joint stability, which can reduce the risk of lower leg injuries. Running on a curve engages the glutes, hamstrings, and calves more symmetrically, promoting muscular balance. The inward lean required during curved sprints trains proprioception and joint awareness.
This movement pattern strengthens ligaments and tendons in the ankle and knee through controlled lateral forces. Curved sprinting also improves agility and the ability to decelerate safely, crucial for injury prevention. Overall, incorporating curved sprints into training helps youth athletes develop resilient lower limbs and better movement mechanics.

Why you need to train these 3 types of speed?
1️⃣ Linear Speed
This is your straight-line sprinting like chasing a ball down the wing or track back. It helps you reach top speed quickly and cover ground fast.
2️⃣ Multidirectional Speed
