Some nail techs are booked… and still broke.
Read that again.
A full schedule doesn’t automatically mean a profitable business.
For the longest time, I thought being booked was the goal. I wanted a packed calendar, back-to-back appointments, and no free time.
Then I realized something
I was working more and making less than I should have been.
If you’re charging too little, a full schedule just means you’re underpaid all week.
If you don’t have cancellation policies, you’re losing money.
If you’re accepting every client, every appointment, and every request, you’re running yourself into the ground.
If you’re afraid to raise your prices, you’re working harder every year for the same income.
The truth is, a lot of nail techs don’t have an income problem.
They have a pricing problem.
A boundary problem.
A system problem.
A mindset problem.
Being booked is cute for Instagram.
Being profitable is what pays the bills.
After 5 years in this industry, I’ve learned that success isn’t measured by how many clients you take.
It’s measured by:
✨ How much you keep
✨ How much freedom you have
✨ How protected your time is
✨ How sustainable your business is
Stop chasing busy.
Start chasing profitable.
Because the goal isn’t to work yourself to exhaustion.
The goal is to build a business that supports the life you actually want.
If you’re a nail tech, what’s one thing you’ve learned the hard way?
👇🏽Let’s talk about it in the comments.
Save this for later and send it to a nail tech who needs to hear it

Listen, I’m not scared so I’ll be the one to say it. 🤷🏽♀️ One of the biggest problems in the Nail Industry is the lack of REAL, GENUINE COMMUNITY!!!! Some nail techs feel like they have to compete with everyone instead of supporting each other. Or Knowledge gets gatekept. Beginners are left trying to piece everything together from random videos, or they struggle finding someone who’s genuinely willing to answer questions or mentor them.
But That’s exactly why I created Luxe Online Nail University.
Inside LNU, you’ll get:
🤍 A supportive community of nail techs who actually want to see you win
🤍 Direct access to ask me questions and get guidance
🤍 Step-by-step nail education with new lessons added regularly
🤍 Honest feedback on your work so you know what to improve
🤍 Live trainings, challenges, and resources to help you keep growing
🤍 A safe space to network, celebrate wins, and build real relationships with other nail techs
Success isn’t something we should have to gatekeep yall. There’s literally room for all of us to grow, learn, and win together.
Comment “Community” and I’ll send you the link to join Luxe Online Nail University. There will ALWAYS be a space for you here💅🏾💕
Please don’t file your nails at home 🙈💅

I see this all the time.
Nail techs saying, “Well… of course nails look bad after 4–5 weeks. That’s normal.”
The top coat gets dull.
The surface isn’t smooth anymore.
Maybe there’s some lifting.
“It happens.”
But here’s the thing…
I don’t like putting other people’s work down, but the truth is: a perfectly done set can still look amazing after 5… even 6 weeks.
The second clip shows a set that’s been worn for 5 weeks.
Yes, they’ve grown out—that’s completely normal.
But everything else?
They still look brand new.
✔️ No lifting.
✔️ No bulky cuticle area.
✔️ The product hasn’t shrunk.
✔️ The shape is still clean.
And that’s not luck.
It comes down to choosing the right products and, even more importantly, knowing exactly how to work with them so they don’t shrink or lose their shape like the set in the first clip.
When you master this, you’re not just creating a “wow” moment when your client leaves the salon.
You’re creating a “wow” that lasts for the entire wear.
And that’s exactly what makes clients stay with you—even after you raise your prices.
Not because the nails looked perfect on Day 1…
But because they still look incredible weeks later.
Right now I’m running the biggest sale I’ve ever done on my complete manicure course.
It’s the only course you need to learn how to create strong, thin, long-lasting Russian-style nails—and do them fast. I work with my regular clients in as little as 90 minutes.
The course is 50% OFF, but only until July 14.
Just 2 days left, and the number of discounted spots is limited.
DM me “SUNSHINE” and I’ll send you all the details. ☀️

And sometimes it’s okay to start over.
I know some nail techs feel embarrassed when they erase a design and start again because they worry their client will think they’re not good enough.
But personally, I believe the most important thing is leaving the appointment feeling proud of what you’ve created.
As long as the final result makes both me and my client truly happy, that’s what matters.....
It’s not about how many times I start over. It’s about how the nails look in the end

PART 7 ✨
One thing I see all the time during classes is nail techs overthinking this step.
How much gel? Where exactly? What if it’s too much?
The main goal is simple: apply the gel without creating bubbles.
For medium-length nails, this amount is usually enough. If you’re creating longer nails, you can always add more later.
In my experience, having slightly more product is often easier than not having enough and having to overpress the form.
