One of Africa’s most surreal landscapes, this remote destination is only accessible with a 4x4 and best explored on a guided tour due to shifting dunes and tides.

📅 Best time to visit: May to November (cooler, drier months)
📸 Top highlights: Dune driving, panoramic viewpoints, flamingos in the lagoon, and rare wildlife sightings

- Book a local tour! Self-driving isn’t recommended due to tricky terrain. Plus, they know all the best spots!
- Bring water, sun protection & a camera with lots of storage
- Combine with a visit to Walvis Bay or a dolphin cruise for a full coastal experience

Behind-the-Scenes Sparky Sunday! 🐾
Sparky has been hard at work, spending 4–8 hours a day out foraging, and all that effort is paying off!
We’re excited to share that he’s now tipping the scales at over 10 kg. Even more remarkably, that’s 700 grams heavier than he was before his electric fence accident.
When Sparky arrived, he was unable to walk, feed himself, or even use his tongue properly. Seeing him thrive, gain weight, and return to doing what pangolins do best is a testament to his fighting spirit and the dedication of the incredible team supporting his recovery.
Every extra gram is a step closer to the ultimate goal: getting Sparky back where he belongs, in the wild.

Tanken in Namibia 🇳🇦
Für viele Touristen ist es beim ersten Besuch in Namibia ungewohnt, das Auto nicht selbst zu betanken. Hier gehört das zum Service dazu. Die Tankstellenmitarbeiter sind in der Regel sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie tanken für dich, reinigen die Scheiben und fragen oft sogar, ob sie den Ölstand oder den Reifendruck überprüfen sollen. Du erkennst sie ganz einfach an ihrer Uniform. Falls währenddessen noch andere Personen auf dich zukommen, was bei Touristen gelegentlich passieren kann, bleib entspannt. Du bezahlst direkt bei dem oder den Mitarbeiter/innen, die für dich getankt haben. Am besten zahlst du mir Karte. Bargeld für den Fall dabei zu haben, dass deine Karte nicht funktioniert, ist aber auch immer ratsam.
