Hello, August 🌊☀️🏖️ Have you spent time on Nantucket this summer?! #Nantucket #NantucketSummer #TownofNantucket #NantucketIsland #NewEngland #newenglandsummer #coastalliving

This summer had quite a story or at least it felt like it did🥹 We started it on Nantucket, a place that has been part of my summers since I was a kid, celebrating Natalie and her new husband after 18 months of planning, anticipating and dreaming about their wedding. And then life did what life does. The weeks that followed looked very different. Our other daughter, Kelly, was navigating the end of a long relationship and all the heartbreak and change that came with it. There was packing, moving, finding a new place for her to live…and mostly continuing to be there while she figured out what came next. Two daughters. Two very different chapters. One beginning something new, the other having to begin again when she hadn’t planned to. And then somehow, we found ourselves back on Nantucket for Labor Day weekend, right where the summer began😎 So grateful the weather was perfect. Gave me a chance to just be. And also to be on the beach - where it feels like time stands stilll - be with the newlyweds, talking about the wedding relishing it all over again. Yet having awareness, almost anxiousness about what’s next. Some big moves and big changes. Welcome changes 🙏 We came back to the same island, but none of us were quite in the same place. Maybe that’s what seasons are for💛 So goodbye summer. You were beautiful, complicated, and definitely not what I expected🫠 Anyone else ending this summer somewhere different than where you started? #autismmom #nantucketsummer #motherdaughtergoals
