Money warning ⚠️ 💲💲💲 It's silly expensive here. Everything costs so much more than we expected. Perhaps part of it is that we have come from Peru and Ecuador, which are much cheaper, but..... The tours are shockingly expensive - and they want cash mostly so that they can avoid paying the tax due. You can pay by card in a lot of places but many of them add upwards of 30% onto the bill if you're paying by card. The salsa dance class for instance - as we said - is $53 per person for a 90 minute session. So if ten of the tour group want to dance... Well ... You do the maths !!! So if you're traveling to Costa Rica, bring lots and lots of dollars. We could easily spend $1,000 dollars here without even blinking. Having said all of that - it's a beautiful place. If “eat less, move more” actually worked long term…most women wouldn’t feel stuck. The biggest change in my body didn’t come from more cardio. More restriction. Or mistaking exhaustion for effort. Yes, I actually made it to the Top 100 on Australian Idol. It was 2004. The judges told me I had a good voice, but not the “right image.” Whatever that was supposed to mean. 😅. I was young, insecure, and the easiest choice felt like walking away. So I stopped singing completely for 15 years. That’s one of my biggest regrets. Anyway, I decided it was time to heal that part of me. I started taking lessons… which has led to live performances 🎤 . Now, every time I sing in front of people or step on stage I feel a little braver, a little more like myself. Singing isn’t just a hobby anymore, it’s become part of who I am. It’s something I do purely for me, and it fills me with the energy I need for everything else life throws at me. My next big gig is coming up on 20th September at The Concourse in Chatswood with a live band. 🎶 I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. I’m sharing this because maybe you need to hear it too: it’s never too late to reclaim what you lost. It’s never too late to start over. 💛 Less hustle. More joy. Always.
