Breathtaking views, framed by great architecture - South Africa. As I’m a big fan of great and unique architecture, this cabin was high up on my bucket list! Getting to the cabin is already a first adventure. As you have to conquer a little valley, the road goes up and down and it’s sometimes pretty steep. But it’s fun and definitely possible with any type of car. Just take your time and enjoy the ride! Once at the cabin, you get a warm welcome with calming music and an aroma diffuser, making you feel home in no time. Nestled on the hill, the beautifully designed Sand Cabin with its soft curves and warm colours provide tranquility and a close connection to nature. One of the highlights is definitely the breathtaking view you get from every room, even or especially from the bathroom. Having a bath or shower with an open window and the view to the nature and valley outside feels just amazing. And of course it’s a perfect place to relax and recharge. Except from the view, you get a wonderful and elevated bed in the middle of the cabin, a fully stocked kitchenette, an indoor fire place and a large outside deck with a BBQ (braai) and another highlight, a wood fired hot tub. And how do you finish a great stay at this amazing cabin? Right, with a fresh and delicious breakfast delivered right to your cabin. It was a nice selection of high quality food and the eggs were still so hot, I couldn’t even touch them at first. Would you drive here in a thunder storm? There is something about moody weather and greenery that just get’s me every time. The best place for that is winter on the Garden Route in South Africa. Romantic 🫶🏼 📍I suggest you always drive the road less travelled and in this case it is the old Bloukrans pass. It has been closed for years but still accessible and i am hoping that one day they will fix the eastern cape side so it can be enjoyed again!
