📍 Noojee, VIC Looking for a day trip just 1.5 hours East from Melbourne (in Gippsland)? Noojee is a hidden gem perfect for families! We started our day at Toorongo Falls, and wow—it’s such a beautiful spot! The short walk to the waterfall is doable for little legs, and if you’re up for more, you can keep going to Amphitheater Falls (though it’s not quite as impressive). Next stop? The Noojee Heritage Centre, where the kids were obsessed with the old train. It’s such a fun spot for a picnic, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air. After lunch, we walked to the Noojee Trestle Bridge, and let me tell you—it’s absolutely worth the 45-minute return stroll! This iconic bridge is so cool to see up close, and trust me, it’s way less stressful than trying to park directly at the bridge. To wrap up, Noojee has two pubs if you’re after a bite to eat. Honestly, this little timber town has so much to offer and is such an easy escape from the city. #noojee #visitvic #familydaytrip #melbournegetaways #toorongofalls #noojeetrestlebridge #bushadventures #melbourneparents #thingstodowithkids #explorevictoria #naturefun #daytripswithkids #visitvic #gippsland #bawbawshire
Discover this hidden gem in Gippsland! - Located just 90 minutes from Melbourne lies the iconic Noojee Trestle Bridge. Standing 21 metres high and stretching around 102 metres across the valley, it’s the tallest surviving wooden trestle bridge in Victoria and a must-see spot in the region. During my recent trip to Gippsland I walked the historic Noojee Trestle Bridge Rail Trail to get up close with this impressive structure. Starting at the Noojee Heritage Railway Station Precinct, this easy 6km-return stroll follows the old railway through towering mountain ash trees and lush ferns until you reach the historic bridge. Once you arrive, you can take a wander across the bridge to take in the stunning forest views or walk down to the base to enjoy a peaceful picnic among the trees. Finally finish the day with a hearty feed at the Toolshed Bar or the Noojee Pub to cap off an unforgettable adventure in Gippsland. - Click on the link in my bio for more information about the Noojee Trestle Bridge and a suggested itinerary. - Paid partnership with @visitmelbourne @visitgippsland *ad #VisitGippsland #Victoria #EveryBitDifferent#melbourneaustralia #visitvictoria #seeaustralia #travelaustralia
