Visiting the @museumofmakebelieve was such an unexpected treat! One second you’re in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Laguna Beach, the next moment you’re being whisked away into a magical realm of make believe. It’s so incredible to realize that everything you see was made by hand. The creators have a background rooted deep in mythical folklore and wanted to create a space to pay homage to these stories. This spot is great for all ages and they even have a scavenger hunt! Definitely give their page a follow and add it to your list of things to do! #hiddencalifornia

1. Give your baby a utensil. My favorite is a dipper spoon like we used in this video, however any utensil is fine. This allows the baby to practice spoon to mouth and explore on their terms. 2. Introduce a cup. I cannot stress this enough! It can be a straw or an open cup however allowing your baby to be familiar with a cup before transitioning off of a bottle at one makes this transition so much easier. 3. Let them get messy! It might be uncomfortable for us as parents to see our baby with food all over their face. However, this is how they learn to explore different textures and develop body awareness. 4. Don’t stay on purées for too long. Once your baby can swallow a purée safely. It is time to move to the next texture. 5. Don’t look scared. Babies are looking to us for guidance and cues that they are safe. It is so important that you clap and smile during mealtime instead of looking scared. Want more info? Did you know the LEGO stores have FREE builds? Check online to see when the next free build is - typically once a month! This month is… ❤️ Build a LEGO Valentine’s Day Heart and take it home with you! Sunday, February 9th, 12-2pm 📲 They do ask you to fill out a quick survey on your phone to let them know you are enjoying the builds so that LEGO keeps the free builds going. ⏰ We showed up just before it opened, there was a line, they took people in by groups. You have a certain amount of time to build. 🤗 They give clear instructions sheet & all the pieces you will need! 🤩 You get to go home with your FREE build!! 🛍️ We did shop while waiting line (one parent stayed in line) you can build your own minifigs for $9.99 - includes 3 mini figs!! You choose the legs, body, head, hair & accessories. ✨ Let us know if you go!! 📍 OC locations: South Coast Plaza, Mission Viejo Mall, Downtown Disney - check out LEGO.com & the store location to see when the next free builds are #legobuilds #legostore #freelegobuilds #oc #orangecounty #goparkplay #freeinoc #ocmom #ockids
