🎞️ Explanation
The film follows Mija, a young girl who has spent ten years caring for a massive, gentle animal named Okja in the mountains of South Korea. Their peaceful life is shattered when the Mirando Corporation, a powerful multinational company, takes Okja away to New York as part of a competitive "super pig" project.
The clip you shared shows the climax of the film, where Mija uses a solid gold pig (a family heirloom) to strike a bargain for Okja’s life. As they leave the slaughterhouse, they witness a heartbreaking scene where two adult super pigs push their baby through the fence to save it from its fate. Mija hides the piglet in Okja’s mouth, managing to rescue one more life from the facility.
It’s a powerful critique of the food industry, corporate greed, and the deep bond between humans and animals.

🎬 BONG JOON-HO
In “Maestri & Cult…
