If I were moving to Pasadena in 2026, these are the three neighborhoods I’d have at the top of my list…and here’s why…
👉 Madison Heights
If you enjoy being close to restaurants, coffee shops, Old Pasadena, and Caltech, Madison Heights is hard to beat. It’s known for its beautiful tree-lined streets, historic homes, and walkable lifestyle. You get the charm of a historic neighborhood while still being close to many of the city’s best amenities.
👉 Bungalow Heaven
There’s a reason this neighborhood is one of Pasadena’s most recognizable historic districts. It’s filled with beautifully preserved Craftsman homes, mature trees, and a true sense of community. If you appreciate character, architecture, and neighborhoods that feel established, Bungalow Heaven is definitely worth exploring.
👉 Linda Vista
If privacy, larger homes, and scenic surroundings are your priorities, Linda Vista is an incredible option. Perched near the Arroyo Seco, this neighborhood is known for estate-style properties, rolling hills, and a peaceful atmosphere while still being just minutes from Old Pasadena.
Of course, there’s no single “best” neighborhood in Pasadena.
The right choice depends on your budget, lifestyle, commute, and what you want from your community. Some buyers prioritize walkability, others want historic charm, and some are looking for more space and privacy.
That’s one of the things I love most about Pasadena, each neighborhood has its own personality, and there’s something for just about everyone.
💬 If you could live anywhere in Pasadena, which neighborhood would you choose? Or did I leave your favorite off the list? Let me know in the comments!

Do NOT move to Pasadena, California… unless you’re ready to deal with this.
Pasadena isn’t for everyone.
But if you’re drawn to tree-lined streets, historic charm, mountain views, and a lifestyle that blends culture with everyday convenience…
The things people warn you about here… are probably exactly what you’re looking for.
1️⃣ You’re very likely close to everything. Being in Pasadena means you’re 15 minutes from Downtown LA, 10 minutes from San Gabriel Mountains, and surrounded by iconic spots like the Rose Bowl Stadium and Old Pasadena.
2️⃣ The neighborhoods actually have character. Historic Craftsman homes in Bungalow Heaven to elegant estates near The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, Pasadena real estate is unique. Once you get used to architectural charm and mature tree-lined streets… you are hooked with Pasadena.
3️⃣Your weekends stop feeling planned. Farmers markets. Coffee in Old Pasadena.Art afternoons at the Norton Simon Museum.
When you live here, culture, food, and outdoor life just… happen.
4️⃣ Walkability sneaks up on you.
Living near Old Pasadena or Playhouse Village means restaurants, wine bars, fitness studios, and Restaurants are steps away.
Suddenly you’re walking to dinner.
And once you get used to that? It’s hard to go back.
5️⃣ The real estate market sets the bar high.
Pasadena homes aren’t just houses, they are a lifestyle.
Historic charm. Updated luxury condos. Spanish revival. Mid-century gems. Once you see what Pasadena offers… “average” becomes very hard to accept.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you about living in Pasadena.

Red Rose Day was blooming with smiles across Pasadena!🌹
Tournament of Roses Members hit the streets to celebrate National Red Rose Day, sharing hundreds of beautiful long-stemmed red roses with residents, visitors and businesses throughout the city. From Old Pasadena to Colorado Boulevard, simple moments of kindness helped brighten the day and spread the spirit of the Rose Parade far beyond New Year’s Day.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated White Suiters who volunteered their time to make this tradition possible. Your enthusiasm, generosity and commitment to our community continue to make a lasting impact.
Special thanks to @foothilltransit for helping us travel throughout the city and to @passionroses for generously donating the stunning roses that made so many smiles possible. ❤️
Happy Red Rose Day!

No I’m not Pasadenas official spokesperson, but I should be. 🤣
Los Angeles is vast.
I used to live in what’s known as “the valley”. Sherman Oaks to be exact.
My oldest was born at Cedars Sinai.
We travel there several times a year for various events and work.
But little old Pasadena is truly a relaxed, chill, gem, tucked away in the loud hustle & bustle of L.A.
If you go on a Thursday, hit up the South Pas Farmers Market.
It’s so worth it!

Pasadena is looking patriotic for the Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
I always love how @onecoloradooldpasadena in Old Pasadena decorates for various seasons and holidays!
Right now you can see these red, white and blue star decorations at One Colorado in honor of America’s 250th. It’s a great spot for a photo opp 📸 as you do some shopping or grab a bite to eat! 🛍️

CHARMING ✨ Those brick walkways, twinkle lights, greenery, and unexpected art feel so warm and full of character.
One Colorado is a charming open-air destination in the heart of Old Pasadena, where historic brick buildings and picturesque alleyways meet shops, restaurants, art and a beautiful courtyard. It’s especially magical at night under the twinkle lights. ✨
📣 Politics often prioritizes the urgent over the important — and sometimes the trivial over the significant. I try to take the long view and the high road, focusing on what matters most for the future even as we grapple with the events of the day.
Perhaps the most important opportunity for shaping our future is the development of the 710 Stub. Decades ago, the legendary comedian Will Rogers used to advise buying land in Southern California because “God isn’t making any more of it.” Reclaiming 50 acres in the center of our city is a golden opportunity not to change Pasadena, but to enhance it by reconnecting vibrant Old Pasadena with some of Pasadena’s most historic residential neighborhoods.
We’ve spent more than two years developing a promising vision of what that could look like: appropriately-scaled commercial development, a range of housing, public greenspace and amenities and calming the traffic that now uses that corridor as a freeway.
Rather than trusting a private developer to deliver that vision, how do we ensure a public return on investment that provides opportunities for local jobs, local businesses and public benefits?
We turned to the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to convene real estate experts to help answer that question. The ULI report recommends setting up a “governance structure” like the Rose Bowl Operating Company or the Pasadena Center Operating Company that combines the best of public and private skills under public control. I strongly support that approach.
I’ll also be asking questions about a $1.65 million new hanger for our Police helicopters. It may be a legitimate need but last year when we gave the go ahead to purchase two new modern choppers to replace three aging ones, we weren’t apprised of the need to replace the old hanger to accommodate them.

Three things to do in Pasadena before it ends ☀️

Same family. Different experiences. ❤️
One of the questions we get most is, “What’s the difference between Neighbors & Friends Café and Neighbors & Friends: The Kitchen?”
The answer is simple... they’re two chapters of the same story.
☕ The Café in Old Pasadena is where mornings begin, lunches are shared, and neighbors become friends over coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and cheese boxes.
🍽️ The Kitchen in South Pasadena is where those friendships linger a little longer with chef-driven dinners, craft beer, thoughtful wine, celebrations, and nights that don’t end when the plates are cleared.
We’re incredibly grateful for the love you’ve shown both spaces. Watching the Neighbors & Friends family grow has been one of our greatest joys, and we can’t wait to welcome you, whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or staying awhile.
