Was passiert in den ersten Tagen? #ersterarbeitstag #onboarding #neuerjob #jobwechsel #probezeit karriere arbeitsleben führung hrinsider karrieretipps talentvision

everyone in your onboarding class looks like they have it figured out. they don’t. here’s what’s actually true: 1. the “effortless” ones are anxious in a different font. you’re just seeing their outside 2. nobody remembers the questions you were scared to ask. they remember the person who was easy to work with 3. the ranking is not about being the smartest. it’s about being reliable, low-drama, and someone people want on their team 4. you were hired from the same pool as everyone else. the firm already decided you’re smart enough. that part’s settled you’re not behind. you’re new. those are different things and everyone confuses them at the start. send this to someone in their first 90 days, follow @coworkcourt for more like this and comment RULES for my unwritten rules of consulting guide 🫶 #consulting #deloitte #careeradvice #impostersyndrome #bigfour

MISTAKE NO. 5/10 ✶ Turns out the order of your onboarding matters… 🥲 For every app I had built, I asked people to sign up before they went through onboarding. Not because I tested it. I just assumed that was the right order. Then someone told me to flip it. I started studying other consumer apps and realized that so many of them did the opposite. They let people go through onboarding, understand what the app could do for them, and only asked them to sign up at the end. So I changed my flow: Before: open app → sign up → onboarding After: open app → onboarding → sign up The percentage of people who signed up increased by about 40%. To be clear, that was roughly a 40% relative lift, not an increase of 40 percentage points. Still kind of insane for moving one screen. But it makes sense. At the beginning, signing up feels like a gate between you and an app you haven’t even tried. At the end, you’ve already answered the questions, personalized your experience, and understood why the app might be useful. Signing up feels like one tiny final step. My rule now: if someone doesn’t need an account to understand the value of your app, don’t ask them to sign up before you’ve shown them that value. The first-run order I use now: 1. Show them the value 2. Let them personalize the experience 3. Ask them to sign up Next mistake: launching an app with no analytics and having basically no idea what users were doing 🫠 #softwaredeveloper #coding #appdevelopment

Introduce yourself to everyone you work with. * Schedule 1:1s with key stakeholders. * Understand your team's goals and success metrics. * Learn how your manager measures success. * Read past project docs, PRDS, and meeting notes. * Map out who owns what across the organization. * Ask "What does success in this role look like after 90 days?" * Listen more than you speak in your first few weeks. Keep a running list of questions instead of interrupting constantly. * Learn the team's communication norms (Slack, email, meetings, etc.). * Shadow customer calls or user research sessions. * Understand your product, customers, and competitors. Volunteer for one small, high-impact task early. * Deliver quick win to build credibility. * Ask for feedback frequently-not just during reviews. Take detailed notes and create your own knowledge base. * Build relationships before you need favors. * Clarify priorities instead of assuming. * Understand ongoing projects before suggesting changes. * End each week by reflecting on what you learned and what's next. “If hired, what’s your earliest start date?” Never say ASAP. Never say “give me 2 months” with no reason. Use this instead 👇 ✅ Currently employed “I can start as early as [DATE]. Happy to align with your onboarding timeline.” ✅ Laid off / unemployed “I’m available immediately, my earliest start date is [DATE].” ✅ Pre planned leave “My earliest start date is [DATE]. I do have time off planned on [DATES], happy to work around it.” ✅ Relocating “I can start remotely on [DATE] and be onsite by [DATE] once I’ve relocated.” ✅ Finishing a project “I’m wrapping up a deliverable by [DATE], so I can start fresh on [DATE].” Comment “Link” and I’ll send you Top 5 Interview Questions in your DMs. #interviewtips #jobsearch #hiring #explore
Comment “SCRIBE” and I’ll send you the link @scribe_hq lets you save how your best people actually do the job before that knowledge walks out the door. It runs in the background while your team works normally and picks up the real process, including the messy parts nobody would write down. Then it turns everything into a proper guide with screenshots and every step already there. New hires run the actual workflow on day one, and leaders can see how anything runs across the org in a few minutes. #Scribe #ProcessDocumentation #AIProductivity #WorkflowAutomation #Onboarding
