As an oncologist, this is what I avoid and or Minimize🩺👇 1️⃣ Processed meats-hot dogs, bacon, deli meat. WHO classifies these as Group 1 carcinogens. Same category as cigarettes. Swap → salmon, lentils, chicken 2️⃣ Alcohol- even one glass. Linked to 7 types of cancer. No truly safe amount. Swap → sparkling water, green tea, mocktails 3️⃣ Sugary drinks — soda, sweetened juice, energy drinks. They drive inflammation and weight gain, both cancer risk factors. Swap → water, black coffee, unsweetened tea 4️⃣ Red meat, especially charred. The colorectal cancer data is strong and consistent. Swap → fish, tofu, plant proteins 5️⃣ Ultra-processed foods. If you can’t read the ingredient list, put it down. Swap → whole foods, nuts, fruit, whole grains Diet doesn’t guarantee you won’t get cancer. But it’s one of the few levers you actually control. 5 foods I avoid as a urologic oncologist. 🚫 You may be surprised by #5. Some of these choices are based on decades of experience, careful consideration, and my strongly held personal belief that certain foods are just disgusting. Please consult an actual nutrition expert before making dietary decisions based on my dislike of peanut butter. Forget the rigid “eight hours of sleep” rule, says Roy Vongtama, MD, radiation oncologist at @UCLAHealth. In this Medically Speaking moment, Dr. Vongtama shares that research shows that consistency matters more than total hours—going to bed and waking up at the same time. Even if it’s only six hours of sleep, it beats getting eight hours on a constantly shifting schedule. The data is much stronger on sleep constancy than on perfect duration. Stop scolding yourself and start protecting your sleep window instead. 😴 🎧 Listen to our podcast-just tap the link in bio! #MedicallySpeaking #UCLAHealth #DrEveGlazier #SleepHealth #ConsistentSleep @dreveglazier Video Description: Roy Vongtama, MD, speaks into a microphone about the importance of consistent sleep timing while Dr. Eve Glazier listens and responds, ending on the blue Medically Speaking podcast graphic.

Three habits may seem small, but your body remembers what you do consistently. Better choices today can go a long way in protecting your health tomorrow. Last month my oncologist asked if I wanted to know the timeline. Did I want to know how much longer I had? I politely declined. I don’t want a date hanging over my head. I don’t want to wake up counting down the days. Right now, things can still go either way. We are hoping and praying this chemo works. We have to give it a few more months to know. Some of my labs are improving, but overall my health has been declining. When I realized my hair was likely going to fall out, I reached out to a local (and incredibly talented) photographer to see if she could squeeze us in for family photos. Because the truth is… I don’t know if I’ll be here for the next ones. I hope with everything in me that I will be. I’m still fighting. I’m still choosing hope. I’m still showing up for my family and for this life I love so much. But during that photo shoot, there was one photo we knew we needed to take. A photo just of me. A photo that could be used for my funeral program. I smiled. I tried to hold it together. I tried so hard not to let the weight of that moment take over. But it did. I cried during the drive home. I sobbed because there is something heartbreaking about having to prepare for a goodbye while you are still so deeply in love with living. This journey is teaching me how to hold two things at the same time: The grief of what I’m facing… and the gratitude for every beautiful moment I still get to experience. So if you’ve been putting off family photos, please take them. Not because you expect something bad to happen. But because these moments matter. Your family deserves to have these memories. In the end, what we leave behind is the love we shared and the moments we captured. ❤️ Photos by the talented @theenlightenedlens #mbc #breastcancer #triplenegativebreastcancer #family #stage4
Dr. Tarang Krishna is an Indian oncologist and cancer care specialist who has dedicated his career to raising awareness about cancer prevention and the impact of everyday lifestyle choices. His work emphasizes that protecting your health isn't just about treating disease. It's about understanding the risks hidden in the products and habits we often consider harmless. One of Dr. Krishna's most controversial discussions focuses on certain cosmetic products, including some nail polishes and artificial nail products. His broader message is that some beauty products may contain chemicals that have raised health concerns in scientific research, particularly for people with frequent or long-term exposure, such as salon workers. However, the evidence does not show that using nail polish itself directly causes cancer. His advice encourages people to become informed consumers, choose products from reputable brands, check ingredient labels, ensure good ventilation during use, and avoid unnecessary exposure to harsh chemicals whenever possible. His perspective is simple: convenience and beauty should never come at the expense of your health. The products you use every day deserve the same attention as the food you eat and the air you breathe. Small, informed choices made consistently can help reduce unnecessary risks over a lifetime. . #cancer #nailpolish #healtcare #healty #fitness

This is what really pisses me off about cancer care in the U.S. It’s not that doctors don’t mention every option. It’s that most doctors don’t know what they don’t know. Has your oncologist ever mentioned 714X? Dr. Gaston Naessens? His 30,000x light microscope? Somatids? Terrain theory? Immune system support? Alternative cancer research? Probably not. And that’s what drives me freakin nuts. People are dying because of a lack of knowledge here my friends. Because true informed consent should mean you’re told what exists, what’s being studied, what’s controversial and what other people have looked into. Not just chemo, radiation, surgery and “good luck.” I’m not telling you what to do. I’m saying.... Why is the natural health community always the one having to bring this stuff up? That’s crazy right? Knowledge is power because it disarms fear. Powerful and informed patients cannot be manipulated by fear. So.... I found books, radio shows and resources on 714X, Naessens and this whole hidden corner of integrative oncology. No medical advice. Can’t do that and wouldn’t want to be associated with that world anyway. Just information you deserve to know exists. Comment 714X ⬇️ & I’ll send all of it over.
