Opals have been associated with hope and good fortune for centuries.  Which means the idea of “luck” here isn’t woo-woo… it’s historic. Wearing an opal can feel like a daily reminder that good things still exist. You get a little “hope cue” you can actually carry through real life. GIA literally says that throughout most of history opal was regarded as one of the luckiest and most magical gems, and that the “bad luck” reputation is tied to a much newer 1800s novel—not ancient belief.  On the days you’re carrying a lot… wouldn’t it be nice to have one small thing that brings you back to hope?

I was so close to tucking this dreamy gold opal + diamond bangle away as Thursday’s Mystery Box treasure.. but believe it or not, something equally — if not even more — magical crossed my path. 😬 And when I tell you it stopped me in my tracks… it truly did. 👇black birthstones you might not know about… the jewellery I make is so far from “traditional” so OF COURSE Ive done some digging on all the gemstone alternatives for each birth month. here’s 4 months that have a black gemstone alternative 🖤 July is traditionally Ruby but Black Onyx is a great alternative 🖤 August is traditionally Peridot but Black Spinel works too 🖤 September is traditionally blue sapphire but sapphires also come in black 🖤 November is traditionally Citrine but you can also do Black Topaz there are HEAPS of alternative gemstone options for most months, especially if you’re into astrology (gemstones and astrology are fast becoming my specialty).
