It happens to be the 50th anniversary of ordination for my classmates back in the @arch_stl! I wasn’t able to be ordained with them because I was a student in Rome, but I still consider them my classmates, and they graciously consider me one of theirs. To my classmates home in St. Louis: I love you, I congratulate you, happy 50th, see you soon!
One of the most beautiful traditions surrounding the Ordination to the Priesthood is the presentation of the manutergium and the stole. It is tradition that, at a priest’s first Mass after Ordination, he will present these two objects to his parents, who played such a pivotal role in nurturing his vocation.
The manutergium is presented to his mother. The maniturgium is the cloth which is used during his Ordination Mass to wipe the sacred chrism off of the priest’s hands after the bishop consecrates them.
A stole is presented to his father. This stole is what the priest wore as he heard his first Confession.
A man does not walk the journey to priesthood alone; it takes a village to nurture that call. Please continue to pray for all of our priests and for all those discerning God’s calling for their lives!

This past weekend, we had the joy of celebrating a remarkable milestone: the 30th anniversary of Father Bogdan Osiecki’s priestly ordination 🙏Thank you Fr. Bogdan for dedicating your life to serving others with compassion, faith, and humility. St.Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church
Friends, an ordination is one of my favorite things to do as a priest. Today, I ordained three young men to the priesthood at the lovely Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Winona. Please pray for Father Riley Becher, Father Cullen Gallagher, and Father Adam Worm as they embark on their vocation.

Bishop Mark Beckman congratulates Father Daniel Cooper on his ordination and thanks all priests for their discernment and ministry.
Fr Stephen Howard’s warm thanksgiving speech at the end of the ordination left everyone in tears.
On behalf of the newly ordained priests, Fr Lukasz Golan and Fr Peter Tran, he offered his final thanks to the two who had quietly accompanied them throughout their journey: the Blessed Mother and St Joseph.
The Holy Family.
He spoke beautifully of how Mary and Joseph had built the house of Nazareth within their hearts — quietly, secretly, patiently watching over them and leading them closer to Christ, their Son.
A deeply moving moment at the end of a truly historic and unforgettable day.
Three new priests. One Holy Family. And a lifetime of saying “yes” to God.
(Shhhh…it’s still in the mail and he hasn’t seen it yet so if you know him don’t say anything!) When your Brother from another Mother is about to be ordained a Father! #catholic #ordination #embroidery #linen #priesthood
One of the most moving moments of the day came as Scotland’s newest priest, Fr Matthew McCafferty, gave his first priestly blessing to his parents following his ordination at St Mary’s, Bathgate, his home parish.
Surrounded by family, friends, clergy and parishioners, Fr Matthew’s blessing was a powerful expression of gratitude for the love, support and faith that have accompanied him throughout his vocation journey.
We continue to keep Fr Matthew in our prayers as he begins his priestly ministry, giving thanks to God for his generous response to the Lord’s call.
