What a week of packing with Centennial Outfitters can look like. We are the only outfitters in this valley, meaning you most likely don’t see any other people out there. We rarely come across hikers and or any other people on trails or at our camps. Casey purposely keeps every group small so each person gets to feel involved and cared for. With most other outfitters you’re most likely going to be part of a conveyor belt style tourist system. Another thing that sets Casey’s outfit apart from many others is that our horses are very well cared for by well educated people. Their needs always come before ours. You won’t be seeing pressure marks from saddles on our horses or mules. They all have well fitted tack, good training, well trimmed feet, shiny coats, plenty of chunck in the trunk and once you see them coming to us when we call them as they all run loose in the mountains, you’ll know they know we care about them. Based on personal experience and from what I’ve been told by a lot of experienced people, good horse care and well educated outfitters are far and few between and they all have to share their trails with the public and other outfitters. I know my experience would be ruined if I had to ride a skinny, injured horse or one with baddly fitted tack on a trip through busy trails and share a camp with 20 other guest. So if you’re looking to experience a very unique part of Montana on horseback with a vast changing environment alongside a very ethical outfitter, you’ve found the right one. We are definitely lucky with our unique location and permits. Our ranch is located close to West Yellowstone and Teton National park so you’ll have a place to stay to explore some more once you return from our pack trip. We are only 2h from Jacksonhole WY if you need something a little fancier after a week in the backcountry. Our nook of Montana is bordering onto WY and Idaho for easy road access to explore lots of wild places.
