On January 4 in Galesburg, Illinois, a Deaf couple’s home caught fire while the husband was asleep after an overnight shift. He survived with serious injuries, but their two cats died. The fire was unintentional and highlights the urgent need for flashing smoke alarms in Deaf households.
Grind now, shine later. Just got home this morning I g from my overnight shift. I thank God everyday for my dream job serving my patients as an Anesthesiologist. I truly believe all the jobs I had before becoming a doctor made me who I am today. Yes, even working at McDonald’s taught me how to be professional, put other people first and be hardworking.
One thing I hope to instill in my daughter Denise and son Robert is the value of hard work. Let me know in the comments if you have had any of these jobs too!

Ppl are always asking me how I do it. Honestly I dnt kno. Working two jobs while being in school, you really have to become a scheduling expert. I normally have all 3 schedules strategically mapped out. On this rare occasion I mistakenly overbooked. Scheduled an overnight shift before a clinical morning. Also forgot my clinical bag, and uniform, but hey I made it there ontime. This journey towards a soft life ain’t always pretty yall but we still gotta push through!

When I show up to work, I'm not thinking of these bureaucrats.
I'm thinking about the truck driver working the overnight shift, the farmer hoping to get through another season, & the mom who's had to take a job while she's raising her kids.
Their tax dollars are funding an agency that's rotten to the core. I cannot allow their money to be wasted like that.
Which part of your life needs an OVERNIGHT shift right now? Let's put our faith on it. 👇
I’m posting this as a reminder: That thing you’ve been praying about for years? The one that feels cemented in place? God can dismantle it and rebuild it, literally in the blink of an eye. Don't let the wait make you lose your vision.
With a warm smile and positive attitude, Floria (Leonie Benesch) arrives at the surgical ward of the Swiss hospital where she works as a nurse on the overnight shift. With one colleague out sick and no replacement on deck, just two nurses and a nervous trainee will have to cover more than two dozen patients.
LATE SHIFT opens this Fri Mar 20th
