At first glance, it’s bold—almost confrontational. That 45mm platinum case, the square geometry softened by rounded edges… it doesn’t try to please everyone, and that’s exactly the point. But then you look closer, and everything starts to make sense. The dial is where it really hits. Fully openworked, deep blue, with laser-cut structure revealing a movement that was actually designed to fit the case—not just dropped in. Patek Philippe didn’t cut corners here. The caliber 28-28 Q SQU is shaped, skeletonized, and incredibly thin, packing a full perpetual calendar with moonphase into something that still feels architectural and clean. What surprised me most is how modern it feels. The monochrome movement, the symmetry of the calendar displays, even the oversized moonphase—it’s technical, but also very visual. Almost like the watch was designed to be studied, not just worn. And then there’s that subtle detail: the baguette diamond at 6 o’clock. Classic platinum Patek signature, but here it feels like a quiet flex rather than decoration. Love it or question it, the Cubitus is clearly Patek pushing into new territory. Seeing it in person, you realize this isn’t about replacing icons—it’s about creating a completely different conversation.
