PCOS is not just a period problem. And if you have ever felt exhausted for no reason, foggy, emotional, or like your body is just not cooperating, I want you to know you are not imagining it. 1 in 10 women have PCOS. Many do not even know it yet. I was diagnosed at 18 and spent years working out what actually helped. Not restriction, not cutting everything out, just genuinely understanding how to support my hormones through food and lifestyle. Some of the most overlooked symptoms nobody talks about: Fatigue that sleep does not fix Brain fog and difficulty concentrating Skin that keeps breaking out Mood shifts that feel completely out of nowhere Weight changes that make no sense If you recognise yourself in any of this, you are not alone and there is so much you can do. I am building something specifically for women with PCOS and I want you to be the first to know about it. Comment GLOW below and I will DM you something that might help. 🌿 #PCOS #PCOSAwareness #HormoneHealth #PCOSNaturally #WomensHealth HormoneBalance GutHealth PCOSSupport NutritionistAdvice TheGlowSpace

Managing your PCOS is so much more than ‘just lose weight’ - you could totally hit a certain number on the scale through restrictive, fad diets but will that help your hormones, probably not! managing your PCOS is focusing on balance and understanding what works for you and your body, with movement, nutrition, steps, self care, sleep hygiene, self care and more! What’s a scenario you’d use this audio for🥲😂😭 - in the early days of my PCOS diagnosis when I had no idea what I was doing I was told to do so many things like: 😭 cut out Indian food 😭 cut carb 😭 HIIT everyday 😭 fasting 😭 Cambridge diet 😭 1200kcals ^ unsustainable, unhelpful guidance - as I started learning more about my body, my triggers & my hormones I realised all I needed more than anything was balance. Balance with food, movement, people & self care! Hope my page helps you a lot and if you need extra guidance on your PCOS journey the 1:1 coaching link is in my bio! #pcosgirl #pcossupport #pcosfood #pcossucks #pcosnutrition #pcoslife #womenswellness #explore

Cysters, ask for these labs at your next appointment! 👩🏻‍⚕️ . And if for some reason your doctor doesn’t want to test these labs, find a doctor who is open to it, Cyster! (Or you can take the lab test I’ve linked in our bio!) Lab tests are VERY important because now you have the paperwork & test results to see what could be  going on underneath it all. 💁🏻‍♀️ . 📣 PSA: We Cysters often need to advocate for ourselves, so don't be afraid to request these labs! . If we think you may have PCOS, we look at the ovaries. But if we want to understand your PCOS, we look at the liver. When the body becomes resistant to insulin, we have more glucose in our bloodstream. When there is too much glucose, the liver converts it into triglycerides. So one of the ways we can tell if you’re insulin resistant, is if those triglycerides are high. As triglycerides increase, they have to be stored somewhere, and one of the organs is the liver. We will see fatty deposits on the liver, a condition called NAFLD. Being insulin resistant and having high testosterone contribute to fatty liver - which is why we see higher rates of fatty liver in PCOS. A damaged liver can also produce less SHBG, a structure responsible for binding up testosterone, making in inactive. So if levels are low of this SHBG, we are going to have a higher percentage of that testosterone free floating, contributing to facial hair growth, acne, and hair loss. All of this contributes to inflammation. Which is why we may see the liver producing high levels of CRP, a marker of inflammation. We know the liver is struggling, if the liver enzyme called ALT on your lab report is high. Have a question? Send me a message. I don’t know why we’re not taught this when we are first diagnosed becuase PCOS/PMOS only gets worse if it’s left untreated. The easiest way to start reversing symptoms and preventing other serious medical conditions like diabetes (which we are at a significant risk of developing compared to everyone else) is by fixing insulin resistance. Here’s how I started reversing my insulin resistance with PCOS … #pcos #pcosawareness #pcossupport #pcoswarrior #pmos
