Welcome to Timbila Game Lodge , a real hidden gem in Limpopo, just 25 minutes from Kruger National Park.
The accommodation is brand new, beautifully maintained and spotless. Everything feels fresh and thoughtfully designed. The rooms are modern yet warm, with super comfy beds and the softest towels you can imagine !
What makes Timbila special is its setting. The property is surrounded by rocky outcrops, granite boulders and peaceful bushland . It is home to over a hundred Cape buffaloes, leopards and hyenas. You’ll also find dams, trails and a serene pond filled with fish right by the camp.
It’s about a five-hour drive from Joburg or you can fly into Hoedspruit and take a short drive from there. The lodge is easy to find, just off the main road to Phalaborwa.
There are no TVs, which I actually loved , it’s the perfect place to unplug. But don’t worry, there’s WiFi everywhere, so you can still stay connected if you need to.
The team (and their friendly dogs) made us feel completely at home , more like family than guests. The food was great, the atmosphere relaxed and the setting absolutely stunning. Whether you’re planning a Kruger drive or just want to unwind with a drink by the fire, Timbila Game Lodge is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to.
