Day in my life writing for my phd! ✏️
Spending the day at home writing and trying to get all of my materials together. Experiencing some moments of frustration - but that is just a part of the PhD. I carry with me that writing is/should be difficult, and when you are thinking about new ideas, sometimes it will be hard to get it on the page. But it’s all about having systems in place and powering through.
It’s not always easy, but it always get’s done! That is my motto as we approach the next couple of weeks

Currently trying to re-adjust back to working life after the bear holiday ever. I’m easing back into things by spending the week at home visiting my family. Half relaxing still with a little bit of work sprinkled into the mix📚
About a month left until term and we hit the ground running!

The song felt really relevant… My first week back was filled with admin and editing. I definitely started the week off stronger than I finished it, but we go again next week!
Breakdown:
Chapter Editing: 11hrs 30m
Admin: 4hrs 30m
Mandarin: 3hrs
Meeting: 1hr
TOTAL: 20hrs
If you’re new here, quick disclaimer: my research is all laptop based so I don’t have to rely on experiments that can go wrong and my hours aren’t lab based. My hours stick around the ~20hr mark and my supervisor is supportive of this as long as all my work is getting done! It’s not doable for everyone, but it works for me. Come deadline season I will work more, it just depends what’s on that week.
