Brahmakamal (The Night Lotus)
It is a celebration In the Sky..
The Stars are trembling in excitement..
Blinking their eyes in wonderment
The impatient Moon has risen early
Full of overflowing light—
Shivering in the cool Night
It wraps a cloud around itself
Peeking from inside the cloak
The Sun reluctant to go..
Drags it's feet.. looking over it's shoulder
To catch a fleeting glimpse of the celebration
The breeze whispers something to the trees
The Trees Nod, going wild with joy
Tonight is the Night..
In the silent heart of the Himalayas,
where the wind whistles with stones..
& whispers It's secrets to the Night
a hidden life is waiting to burst out
curled under the frost of endless Snow
a secret spark of Passionate Love
a crown of white gold
Ensconced in a luminous glow..
When darkness drapes the world like velvet
The Himalayas are incandescent..
Stretching their arms, reaching for the Moon..
...and the Moonlight comes down in sheets
dancing on the slippery slopes ..
Singing a forgotten Song of lost Love..
With the Moon's silent encouragement
..and the gentle loving nudges from the breeze
The Night Lotus, is stirring to Life
Opening its Heart to the world.
There, it awakens — a quiet defiance,
braving the Darkness of It's roots
One soft breath of moonlight..
and it catches fire..
Like it's lit from within..
It has been a long wait..
The entire creation stands still, in attendance
For the one Night of Love & ecstasy
Gasping in Unison at the sheer beauty
Of the night queen of the Himalayas..
The iridescent Brahmakamal.
There she is blooming in all her glory..
In her brief solitary Life..
She has known the weight of solitude, like no other..
Deeply crushing her heart
The cold bite of Time
etched from the very start..
yet she holds within herself a promise
Of a sacred Love..
A single night of rapture ...
to weave memories for a Lifetime
Brahmakamal — The Night Lotus
The Sacred flower, Shrouded in purity
A symbol of Peace & austerity
A glimpse of the entire Universe in its heart
Fleeting in its existence
& yet eternal in its Beauty..
