Join us this Friday, March 6th from 5:00–8:00pm for the opening reception of VCP’s 10th Annual Juried Exhibition, Why We Look.
Our juror, Marvin Heiferman (@whywelook), selected 40 images by 40 different artists that “survey an array of realities, concerns, and visual strategies. Each of them asks each of us to consider not only what we look at, but when and how and where that happens—and, most importantly—why.”
We will be closed this Wednesday and Thursday (March 4th & 5th) to take down our current exhibit and install the new work. Thanks for your patience!
Come celebrate, look closely, and join the conversation.

April Featured Photographer Clayton Fox
This profile chronicles the artistic evolution of Clayton Fox, a retired aerospace professional who found a second calling through the Nevada Camera Club. Although his interest in the medium began with family memories and military service, joining a structured creative community transformed his approach from simply taking pictures to intentional image-making. Fox eventually stepped into a leadership role as President, focusing on organizational growth and fostering a supportive environment for fellow hobbyists. His creative process emphasizes patience and technical precision, often utilizing a tripod to capture the unique light of Nevada’s natural landscapes.
The Nevada Camera Club fundamentally shifted Clayton’s approach from simply capturing what was in front of him to the intentional act of "making" a photograph. Before joining, his photography—which included documenting his unique experiences as a KC-135 boom operator in the Air Force—felt as though it were missing a vital element. Through the club, he was introduced to a new way of thinking that prioritized intention, composition, and vision.
