Open rates are a vanity metric disguised as a strategy. Someone clicking on your email doesn't mean they care. It means they were curious for a second. Real connection goes deeper. It's the difference between a message someone skims and a message someone keeps. Physical, personal communication still has power because it requires effort. And customers can feel that effort. When something shows up in their hands that clearly wasn't automated into oblivion, it changes the relationship.
Your marketing says one thing. Your employees’ experience says another.
Which one do you think customers believe?
I’ve seen this pattern too many times: Beautiful marketing campaigns promising exceptional service. Meanwhile, staff are underappreciated, disconnected, and disengaged.
And customers always know. Always.
Your brand is not what you say in your marketing. It’s what your people deliver when no one’s watching.
In the latest episode of The Visual Brief, I break down:
• Why every employee is a brand ambassador (whether you like it or not)
• The hidden cost of the internal disconnect
• How internal content can transform team belief
• One question every leader should ask their team

Question: When’s the last time you asked your team what they think your brand stands for?

If clients treat you like a vendor, you trained them to.
Do you really think a brand with a huge budget is going to look at a shaky cell phone video and want to pay you top dollar? Do you think your donors will be inspired to give when the video you present looks unprofessional?
You might be the best entrepreneur or run the most impactful nonprofit in the world. But if what you’re presenting is subpar, it won’t matter.
Your message deserves to be seen and heard at the highest quality possible. Invest in presenting your work with clarity, professionalism, and purpose.
Creative industry reality:
We left corporate because we didn’t fit in.
But now all our clients… are corporate.
So yes, I can be goofy, loud, and slightly unhinged.
But I can also say:
“Let’s circle back on that deliverable.”
That’s the game.
Be yourself.
But know when to flip the switch.
It’s not fake.
It’s just knowing the room.
Freedom doesn’t mean zero professionalism.
It means choosing when to turn it on.
Customer success isn't about parachuting in at the 11th hour to save a deal.
It's the work that happens every single day.
The pursuit of mastery. The energy. The vibe. The alignment of values.
My customers aren't here because I swooped in with a competitive overlay presentation. They're here because somewhere along the line, we mapped to their ethos. Their ethics. Their values.
If that doesn't continue to happen day over day, no save play will work.
Customer excellence is built in the daily work. Not the emergency defense.

Strong partnerships are built on communication and collaboration.
We work hard to build trust with our clients from day one — by listening closely, clarifying expectations, and making sure everyone feels aligned before cameras ever start rolling.
For us, collaboration isn’t just part of the process — it’s the foundation. We strive to be a seamless extension of your team, communicating clearly, integrating smoothly with other partners, and staying flexible as projects evolve.
When trust and transparency lead the way, the creative work becomes more strategic, more authentic, and more impactful.
We’re grateful for the partnerships that continue to grow with us — and for the opportunity to keep showing up with intention every time.

Most founders focus on building.
But attention is what distributes value.
You can create something great, but if nobody sees it, nothing compounds.
Products create value.
Attention distributes value.
Hope this helps.

The mistake: not knowing who you’re talking to.
Most people just hit record and forget theres actually someone watching on the other side of the screen.
But before I film anything for a client, I make them answer these questions:
Who is your ideal viewer and customer?
What bothers them?
What do they actually want?
How do they talk about their problems?
When you try to appeal to everyone, you appeal to no one.
We’re not here to be beige.
The more specific you get, the more people feel like you’re speaking directly to them.
That’s what makes someone stop scrolling. Not the lighting. Not the edit. Not even the hook.
It’s the feeling that you get them.
So before you hit record spend an hour figuring out exactly who’s on the other side of the camera.
Everything else gets easier from there.
