What’s the perfect pairing with an afternoon espresso or a cup of tea? Pizzelle! ☕️ Pizzelle are a wafer biscuit typical of the Abruzzo region. All our Pizzelle Irons are made in Abruzzo, Italy by @cbe_elettrodomestici 👏 They have a no Teflon coating, instead they’re made of a cast aluminium, meaning it will not chip into your food and is extremely long wearing. Irons simply need to be well heated and brushed with oil and will season overtime with use. We carry a range of stovetop and over 25 electric Pizzelle and waffle irons with different shapes and patterns! We even stock CBE’s Pizzelle Recipe book, which contains recipes for different sweet and savoury pizzelle. Italian made Pizzella irons can be purchased in store and online, with shipping available Australia wide! All irons come with a recipe! Afterpay is available too. . . . . . #preston #costanteimports #melbourne #melbournefood #pizzelle

In Abruzzo, pizzelle weren’t just sweets. Families had personalised irons stamped with flowers or initials, forged by local blacksmiths and used for weddings, baptisms, feast days, everything. Ferratelli, nevole, cantinelli… the names changed, but the heart stayed the same. Thin, crisp, patterned biscuits made to honour family. Pizzelle Recipe Ingredients • 6 eggs • 200 g white sugar • 200 mL olive oil • Zest of 1 lemon • 150 plain flour • 200 g self-raising flour • A shot of Sambuca or Strega liqueur • 1 large tablespoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste • Optional: 1 teaspoon ground aniseed Method 1. Whisk the eggs and sugar until smooth. 2. Add the olive oil, lemon zest, vanilla, and the shot of Sambuca or Strega. 3. Add both flours and mix until you have a silky, pourable batter. 4. Fold in the 1 teaspoon whole aniseed if using. 5. Allow the batter to rest for 15 minutes. 6. Heat the pizzelle iron, spoon in the batter, and cook until golden. 7. Cool on a rack to crisp up. If you want to shape your pizzelle into baskets or cylinders (for cannoli-style shells), do it immediately as they come off the iron while they’re still soft and flexible. As they cool, they will firm up and become perfectly crisp. #Abruzzo #Italian #ItalianTraditions #Fritelli #Pizzelli #Cantinelli #TraditionalEating #EatingTradition #DolciItaliani #CucinaItaliana #HeritageCooking #ItalianSweets #HomemadeGoodness #FamilyTraditions #FoodHistory #Biscotti @costanteimports

There’s just something about making pizzelle that feels like home. 🇮🇹❤️ The smell, the first one off the iron… Dan stealing a bite before I’m even finished. 😂 And yes—the scraps are ALWAYS the best part. 🤌 The secret ingredient- @paneangeliofficial Some traditions just bring you right back. 💚🤍❤️ If pizzelle were part of your family too, SHARE this with someone who gets it—or TAG the person who would steal the first one. 😂👇 🇮🇹 Follow @tuttinitalia for more Italian food, language, traditions & memories that feel like home. ❤️ #ItalianAmerican #ItalianHeritage #ItalianTraditions #ItalianFood #GrowingUpItalian

Pizzelle are traditional Italian waffle cookies, made with butter but I changed this recipe around a little so it’s lighter, crispier and healthier to eat! 1 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup coconut oil 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 cup sugar 3 eggs 1/4 tsp Salt 1 tsp Vanilla I also sprinkled some pearl sugar for extra sweetness but you can add 1 extra tbs of sugar if you want it sweeter, also you can always substitute the coconut oil or butter if you like. Enjoy ❤️#pizzelle #cookies #delicious

There is an object in a lot of Italian American families that is not worth ten dollars and also cannot be replaced, and it is a pizzelle iron. 🍪 Two hinged cast plates on long handles with a pattern cut into them. You hold it directly over a gas flame. You flip it by hand. The batter is nothing. Eggs, sugar, flour, butter and anise, which is the smell that tells you what house you are in before you get your coat off. A spoonful in the middle, close it, and count. That is the entire skill, and the count is not written down anywhere, it lives in somebody's arm. Too long and it goes bitter. Too short and it will not hold its shape when it cools. Everybody's first dozen are garbage and everybody's grandmother's are not. And you do not make twelve, you do hundreds at a sitting, standing at that stove for two hours, because it is for a wedding, or for Christmas, or because somebody died and there will be people at the house. 🕯️ They come off soft and go hard in about a minute, then they stack in a tin with wax paper between the layers. The iron itself is almost always older than the person using it. It came from a hardware store in nineteen fifty something, or it came over in a trunk. There are burn marks on the handles where it sat wrong on the grate for fifty years and the pattern is worn shallow in the middle from use. Nobody would ever sell it, and nobody can agree on who is supposed to get it, and that argument is itself a kind of inheritance. ❤️ #Pizzelle #ItalianAmerican #ItalianFood #ItalianHeritage #Nonna
Servi calde. #cookaround #pizzelle #baccalà #cenone #capodanno #secondipiatti #christmas #ricettedinatale #instafood #ricettadelgiorno #foodlovers #foodgram #Foodpics
