Can you mix Magic Pour casting powder with Plaster of Paris? Yes! And I’m showing you exactly how I do it! 🤙🏼
In this tutorial, I’m mixing Let’s Resin Magic Pour casting powder with Plaster of Paris to see how the two work together for casting plaster figures in silicone molds. I’ll walk you through my mixing ratio, consistency, pouring process, and the finished results.
If you make plaster paint kits, use silicone molds, or are looking for ways to get stronger, smoother plaster figures while stretching your Magic Pour a little further, this tutorial is for you! 😊
Mixing Ratio:
2 Cups - Magic Pour
1 Cup - Plaster of Paris (POP)
1 1/4 C - Water

Making the plaster figures only takes about 1 hour,
but the full drying process takes up to 3 days.
After that, the kits still need to be packed, shipped,
and delivered from Florida to your home.
I often have up to 10 kits in stock, but not always and not for every shape.
I always start working on orders within the first 24 hours after purchase,
but unfortunately I can’t speed up the drying process.
If you need 1–10 kits, feel free to message my Etsy shop and I’ll let you know if they’re in stock and when they can be shipped. 😊

Bubbles are probably one of the MOST frustrating parts of making plaster figures 😅
So I put together 13 things I do to help reduce bubbles, or sometimes eliminate them altogether, to hopefully offer some help to others who may be struggling with bubbles! 🤗
For this specific example, I’m using Plaster of Paris because, out of the powders I’ve worked with, it’s the one I personally have the most difficulty with when it comes to bubbles, especially in detailed molds. I figured if these techniques can help me get a cleaner pour with Plaster of Paris, it’s a great one to use for demonstrating these tips!
Some powders are naturally more prone to bubbles than others, and you may never get every single pour 100% perfect. But your mixing technique, how you pour, how you prep the mold, and even what you do immediately after pouring can make a HUGE difference.
In this video, I’m walking you through 13 practical tips I actually use when making my own plaster figures. You definitely don’t have to do all 13 every time. I encourage you to try a few and see what works best with your powder, molds, and setup!
And remember: a few bubbles don’t mean you did anything wrong. Sometimes plaster is just going to plaster. 😂
Save this one for your next pour! ❤️

Nothing ruins a customer’s experience faster than chalky plaster dust all over their hands or dining table! 😅
When you run a plaster business, delivering 100% dust-free creations is the exact detail that separates cheap DIY items from a high-end, premium brand.
But let’s be honest: if you get a bulk order of 50 or 100 mini figurines, hand-brushing every single piece with expensive varnish takes hours and destroys your profit margins! 💸 Or if you dip them, the paint won't go on as smoothly or look as vibrant.
That’s why I developed a game-changing batch-spraying hack:
✨ Costs literally pennies per batch
✨ Locks in plaster dust 100%
✨ Keeps the surface ready for kids to paint easily
✨ Seals 100 pieces in under 2 minutes
🎓 NEW LESSON ADDED: I just added the full DIY formula, exact ratios, and step-by-step spraying routine as a bonus upgrade to Module 6 of The Complete Plaster Creations Workshop!
If you want to save hours of labor, cut costs, and elevate the quality of your plaster pieces instantly, this trick will change your business.
