In sewing, we refer to our unfinished projects as "UFOs" (unfinished objects). This grey and ivory striped silk taffeta 18th century Italian gown has been waiting to be completed since I started it just over 11 months ago. I originally thought it would be for the Anne Rice Ball 2024 (I was going to style it up in an 18th century theatrical way for the Theatre du Vampyres theme), but it was one of those projects that I just wasn't vibing with at the time, so I put it aside and started a new costume instead, thinking I'd finish this one later on over the winter. (I did not) The colorway never felt quite right for a spring or summer event, but 11 months later, now I am ready to revisit it once again and hopefully, finally finish it out ahead of our trip to Venice in February. It seems right for a wintertime ensemble. This winter I will be revisiting several older unfinished projects, so I hope you will stick around to see some of these things to completion. #18thcentury #1780s #historicalcostuming #pleating #rococo #marieantoinette

Au cours de cet atelier, les participants sont invités à découvrir la fabrication du papier à la main et à expérimenter l’embossage de la pulpe pour créer leur propre objet plissé unique.
