Want a better pole plant? This is where it starts 👇🏻🎿 Save this video and FOLLOW for better skiing! A strong pole plant doesn’t just look good — it sets up every turn. It controls rhythm, improves balance, and stabilizes your upper body. Used correctly, the pole plant supports the flow of movement, helps you consistently pressure the ski, and allows you to release the edges smoothly during the transition. Build it step by step — rhythm first, dynamics second. Skier: Adrian Menter, state certified skiing instructor (ISIA Level 4) 🎿 #skiing #skifahren #skiingtips #howtoski #skitutorial
Part 3 of “HOW TO SKI PARALLEL” 🎿 Struggling to get your ski flat at the end of a snowplough turn? This tip is for you. In Part 3, Aaron introduces one of the most useful tricks to help you achieve the right feeling when transitioning to parallel skiing - the inside ski tap. As your snowplough turn nears completion, simply unweight the inside ski and give it a small tap. That tap helps flatten the ski and brings it into a parallel position far more naturally than trying to force the movement. Start each turn in a large snowplough, let it develop, then tap as you finish. Repeat it turn after turn and you’ll start to feel the parallel position coming much more easily. Part 4 of “HOW TO SKI PARALLEL” ⛷️ Want to make parallel turns feel more natural? Start with a smaller snowplough. In the final part of this series, Aaron explains why reducing the size of your initial snowplough is such a game changer. Having less width means less rotation needed to match your skis into parallel, making the whole movement smoother and more instinctive. The catch is that a smaller snowplough builds more speed, so stick to gentle terrain and make sure you’re rounding off your turns. And pay close attention to your weight distribution, staying centred or drifting to the inside of the turn will make it nearly impossible to flatten and rotate your ski. Keep your balance loaded over the outside ski and the parallel position will start coming naturally. Full video at the link in our bio 🔗 Book your perfect ski instructor at maisonsport.com

Part 1 of “HOW TO SKI PARALLEL” 🎿 If you’re comfortable linking snowplough turns and ready to take the next step, this drill is for you. The Bow Tie Drill teaches you the exact movement your skis need to make at the end of every turn to transition from a snowplough into a parallel position, and the best part? You can practise it on flat ground before you even get on the slopes. Aaron walks you through every step so you know exactly what you should be feeling and where your skis need to go. Part 2 of “HOW TO SKI PARALLEL” 🎿 Now that you’ve got the ‘Bow Tie Drill’ under your belt, it’s time to take it into your turns. In Part 2, Aaron shows you how to put that same foot rotation movement into action during an actual turn transitioning from a snowplough shape, through a flat ski and into a full parallel position. The feeling is exactly the same as the drill you practised on flat ground, just now you’re doing it in motion. Start in your snowplough, rotate the foot at the end of the turn to bring the skis parallel, then return to your snowplough to set up the next one. This is the plough parallel and it’s the bridge between snowplough and fully parallel skiing. One thing that separates good skiers from great ones? This. 👇 Intermediate skiers move as one block, upper and lower body turning together. Advanced skiers keep the upper body calm and facing downhill while the lower body does the work independently. Try the separation drill: let your skis pivot underneath you while your upper body stays completely still. It’s exaggerated on purpose — and once you feel it, you can’t unfeel it. 📲 Ready to level up? Find your perfect instructor at maisonsport.com
