There is SO MUCH grief in the first episode of the third season of _The Way Home_. From mothers discovering their kids are no longer kids, to Kat’s visit and discoveries in the 1800s, it’s a whirlwind of emotions. But when I had to choose one scene to focus on, I chose this one: - Jacob is grieving, not knowing who he is between two time periods and two lives. - Kat is still grieving all that she discovered, along with the shattered dream that when Jacob returns, everything will be right again (and they can resume their dream to work together). - Del is grieving the realization that not only is Jacob no longer a kid, but he feels smothered by her mothering. In real life, there is no time travel, but often, when we attempt to go “back” after trauma, a long absence, or even immigration, we find out that we can’t go back. We have to rediscover who we are, carrying everything we experienced. Beautiful, authentic writing and masterful performances by the wonderful @jspencermac and the iconic Andie MacDowell, who expresses her grief without a single utterance. What do you think? A mini review of @thewayhomehallmarkchannel pilot. Did the pilot catch my eye and wanting more? Definitely. The beginning gave me creepy vibes. But by the end I definitely was left wondering the mystery of Elliot, the pond and the Landry women. 4 stars.
