These Wolbachia mosquitos are bred by NEA to help decrease the mosquito population. Plot twist: they’re all male. Double plot twist: male mosquitoes don’t bite; females bite ! Triple plot twist: they’re actually doing us a favour. These Wolbachia male mosquitoes are on a mission: 👉 Fly around 👉 Charm the female mosquitoes 👉 Mate with them BUT… when the female lays eggs? ❌ Surprise! The eggs don’t hatch. No babies. No next generation. No dengue party. So instead of spraying chemicals everywhere, these little bros help reduce the mosquito population naturally, which means lower dengue risk for all of us.
