I feel Powai is like an independent, very disconnected island of sorts. If you live and work here, great, but any other combination sucks. Anyway, I’ve been a patron of Powai for more than a decade now, and I feel the hangout scene here has kept changing ever since Harry’s in Hiranandani shut down, Hoppipola shut down, and the recent martyr - Mirchi and Mime, and the list goes on. Since then, I feel expecting everything out of one place anyway isn’t a good idea. I might post a Powai guide here at some point, but till then here is a start. Yuhi is not the best, but it’s a comforting pre-sunset hang, with views of Hiranandani Gardens and Powai Lake, and can offer a nice alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverage or two. Don’t go here with great or even good food expectations, or even good coffee, because that sucks. What it does have is a rare commodity in Mumbai - SPACE!
