Precision matters when your hunt depends on it. šŸŽÆ Installing a @ultraviewarchery UV Slider sight on a @matthewsbows Mathews Phase 4 33 using the Mathews Bridge-Lock integration system and dialing it in the right way. In this build I’m setting: • 1st Axis • 2nd Axis • 3rd Axis using the @hamskeaarchery Hamskea Gen Pro 2 leveling tool to ensure everything is perfectly aligned. One cool feature on this sight is the ability to set 1st and 2nd axis simultaneously, making it extremely precise when mounted on the bow. Next steps for this setup: āœ”ļø Paper tuning (bullet holes) āœ”ļø Bare shaft tuning āœ”ļø Broadhead tuning āœ”ļø Dialing in the sight tape āœ”ļø Matching it with a custom high-performance hunting arrow build The goal is simple: a fully lethal bow-and-arrow delivery system built with surgical-level precision. More to come as we finish this build. If you want your bow dialed for perfect broadhead flight, send me a DM to schedule bow tuning. #SanClementePrecisionArchery #BowTuning #ArcheryHunting #BroadheadTuning #MathewsArchery Bowhunter ArcheryLife PrecisionArchery ElkHunting BowhuntingGear ArcherySetup
Vertical misses are often caused by inconsistent pressure against the back wall. But if your arrows land high or low when you change that pressure, it’s often a sign your cams are slightly out of sync. When the bow is set correctly, your arrows should still average on the same horizontal line no matter how hard or soft you pull against the wall. That’s a good indicator your system is working together. Many archers chase vertical misses for months before realizing it’s can sync. Full video on our YouTube. #bowonly

Why I run a Torque Eliminator on BOTH bows… confidence.#archery #bowhunting #mathewsarchery
Sometimes I build new bows too.. usually a model or two behind though šŸ˜… This @primearchery Form 34 is turning out great. Topped with @aaearchery Mountain Stabilizers and mounts. @terra_firma_archery Dominus 300's are flying great already and fine tuning is barely started. @sandsarchery has some killer custom packages for sights. For a sight I'm trying out a few scopes but I think @hhasports NYTRX - 3 pin horizontal is for me. This is a .019" G, .019" Y & .010" G custom. #bowhunting #archery #archeryhunting
Crap 1st shot and broke my brand new nock! +15 grains… and my perfect tune was gone. šŸŽÆ Swapped from aluminum outserts āž”ļø titanium. That bumped my front end weight by +15 grains… and immediately changed my arrow flight. So I checked it the right way: āœ”ļø Shot through paper → slight tear āœ”ļø Micro-adjusted rest 1/16ā€ up āœ”ļø Bullet hole achieved āœ”ļø Bare shaft vs fletched → same hole at distance Now we’re back to a TRUE tune. Here’s the takeaway šŸ‘‡ If you change ANYTHING on your arrow — front or back — you just changed your bow tune. Most guys skip this step… then wonder why their broadheads don’t hit with field points. Field points? You can get away with it. Broadheads? They expose EVERYTHING. A perfectly tuned bow + arrow system = fixed blade broadheads flying like darts. If your broadheads aren’t grouping… it’s not your broadhead. It’s your tune. DM me ā€œTUNEā€ if you want your setup dialed šŸ”§ #SanClementePrecisionArchery #BroadheadTuning #Bowhunting #ArcherySetup #HighFOC ArrowBuild BowTuning FixedBlade HuntingSetup PrecisionArchery
Every detail matters on a bow like this. Freshly tuned Mathews Phase 4 compound bow and nothing gets overlooked— cam timing āœ”ļø ATA āœ”ļø center shot āœ”ļø But it doesn’t stop there… D-loop matched to the strings. Servings dialed to flow. Drop-away cord all matchey matchey as well. Because yeah… it’s a tool to put food on the table— but who says it can’t look damn good doing it? If your setup isn’t clean AND shooting lights out… it’s not finished. šŸ’¬ Be honest—are you running function only, or function AND form? #mathewsinc #mathewsarchery #archery #bowhunting #teamqad

Hot takes incoming… • These last few years it seems like the archery space is more of a marketing race than anything else. I was thinking about what it would be like to get into archery today and trying to sift through all the buzz that’s out there right now to find out what you should actually get to start getting arrows downrange and improving. Taking what I know now I thought of what I’d tell myself if I was in that situation, not a ā€œwhat I wish I knew back then,ā€ but ā€œwhat I’d say now.ā€ • I’ll get the hot take out of the way first: don’t get a flagship bow, don’t get expensive arrows, and don’t get the most expensive accessories…you shouldn’t/don’t need a $3,000 price to pay for your bow set up alone, and that’s becoming more of a reality for setups that people are saying you ā€œneed to have.ā€ There are some killer budget bows out there nowadays (@dartonarchery has some killers) and even more accessories that you can rock and easily shoot well with. At the end of the day, 99% of people can’t shoot as well as the equipment they put on their bows…no matter how cheap or expensive it is. I said what I said šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø • Now to what id start out with right off the blocks: 1. Get a handheld release: Preferably a hinge, but it’s undeniable to me that handhelds are more repeatable, mechanically reliable, and easier to use to put into a shot process that keeps you from punching the trigger • 2. get a bow press (but after a bit): Before you upgrade gear, bows, or anything really…once you know you are going to commit to shooting a bow, I’d pick up a press. It’s a purchase you will be able to use for the rest of your career and being able to work on your own bow is an invaluable skill. (@lastchancearchery I’ll make videos for a limb lock kit…please…) • 3. Don’t get expensive arrows. What I said 99% of people can’t outshoot their gear, I’m convinced it’s 99.9% when it comes to arrows. You’re going to lose arrows early on shooting, so get cheaper arrows and shoot the brakes off them. @goldtiparrows warriors are great, but you can find some Amazon gems too if you’re feeling wild. • #archery #hunting #bowhunting #outdoors #bow
There’s a hidden advantage with vertical pin sights. The Vertical post works as a torque indicator If you apply hand torque or twist the bow even slightly, the post no longer appears centered in the housing. Your sight picture literally tells you something is wrong with your grip. It becomes built in feedback every time you draw the bow. Small detail, but it can make a huge difference in consistency Have you ever noticed this with a vertical pin bow sight? #archery #archerylife
